You should go back and read your own words.
Cannot, unless you have a way to lower the compression ratio.
(posted in reply to #62) Hogwash, you absolutely can run CNG or propane in a diesel engine with a properly engineered system. I was doing it ten years ago. Dual fuel, diesel/CNG or propane systems are a viable reality that save money.

The compression ratio in these machines are not changed. Some can switch the fuel without stopping the engine.
Modern diesel engines are mostly all going to high pressure common rail systems. Injection pressures are in the range of 14,000 to almost 30,000 psi.
Anyway, in a dual fuel application, you basically cut the diesel quantity back to about 10% and add the remaining 90% of the desired fuel with gas. The diesel is required to control the ignition timing. It works very well.
A jet engine is a form of turbine engine.
A turbine works by having high-pressure gas passing through turbine blades, causing the blades to rotate the shaft and producing power. The high-pressure gas can be steam from a boiler, or it can come from direct combustion.
In the diagram thackney posted at #70, you have two generation stages. The upper generator is run by the gas turbine (essentially a stationary jet engine with the shaft connected to the generator). The upper stage does not use water. To get maximum efficiency, the hot exhaust from the top stage is used to boil water which goes to the smaller steam turbine in the lower half of the diagram. You don't need the second stage if you prefer compactness over fuel efficiency.
LOL
They are the same people who behind closed doors with lobbied/bribed against electric trains going to the airport, LAX. In fact, the lines run for many miles and stop short of the airport terminal by about 1 mile.
Your wasting your time. Maybe you already know that.
Did any body say a jet engine and a turbine engine were not similar, if they did I missed that, a ramjet is also similar. They tried to make turbine motors for trucks years ago, they never could get a handle on the heat.
