Pentagon to Keep Rush Limbaugh on the Air
Wall Street Journal ^ | 03/07/2012 | Julian E. Barnes

Here is one battle the Pentagon is not going to fight: Rush Limbaugh.

Many of Mr. Limbaugh’s sponsors have dropped him in the wake of his controversial comments calling a Georgetown Law student, Sandra Fluke, a “prostitute” and “slut” after she testified about her school health plan’s lack of contraceptive coverage.

Despite the controversy, the Pentagon so far is not going to review its decision to broadcast Mr. Limbaugh’s program on its overseas radio stations for U.S. troops, the American Forces Network.

George Little, the Pentagon press secretary, said the AFN broadcast center provides the first hour of Mr. Limbaugh’s weekday show to radio stations overseas. Mr. Little said the shows during which Mr. Limbaugh attacked Ms. Fluke were provided to the overseas stations but local stations decide what radio programming to air.

Military officials said that the overseas stations typically try to balance Mr. Limbaugh’s broadcast with programming from more liberal radio hosts.

I find it troubling that the Pentagon would even concern itself with this nonsense.

This is no longer my America, my America was stolen.

Good way to piss off the military.

Perhaps the current military but the one that will be formed in the not so distant future will be clamoring for shows that include Algore, any commie broadcaster and in general all things wussy.

IIRC, it was due to a petition on the WH website.

clintonites did succeed in limiting the AFRN broadcast to only the first hour of Rush’s show

Even 1/3 of Rush’s show is too much for the communists to tolerate

Appears Rush is still beating their ideas with half his brain tied behind his back

On Saturday, Carbonite CEO David Friend released a statement on his company’s website declaring that Carbonite had decided to “withdraw” advertising from Rush Limbaugh’s radio show in the wake of his controversial remarks involving Georgetown Law student Sandra Fluke because it will “ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse”: Carbonite stock (NASDAQ:CARB) has plummeted nearly 12 percent, outpacing the drop of the NASDAQ index in that same time period by nine-and-a-half points. It was also one of the biggest decliners on the NASDAQ on Tuesday.
So Mr. CEO how is that change working for you? Down 12% in two days.

Well, after a fall of over 10% yesterday, Carbonite stocks are back up 2.73% as of this writing.

Their stocks started plunging on March 5 reaching a low point yesterday, but has since bounced back ( although not at the March 5 level ).

The next thing to consider/confront; government backing for companies that are suffering, like carbonite. Remember carbonite is tied to left wing radical kooks. These people, such as Soros and Obama, will infuse capital to counter the drop. Not saying it will happen but there is such a hatred for Conservatives and they feel they got an opening now. Just keep hammering and they’ll achieve their goal: silence dissent, get Rush off the air, even if it costs them an arm and a leg to do it.

Give me some hope that if OBOZO gets a second term and tried to use the millitary for martial law against the people we could see a “consitutional coup” against the tyrant.

1/2 his brain and 1/3 his time

(1/2) * (1/3) = Rush kicking butt on the millirary radio with only using 1/6th his brain, so that would mean on millitary radio Rush has effectively 5/6th his brain tied behind his back JUST TO MAKE IF FAIR.

Why now so concerned with keeping our troops happy by keeping Rush?

After the last blast of proposals for Tricare premium increases of up to 300%, they prove that they really don’t give a damn.
