Bitter pill for liberals

So tell me again why the pope has to pay for Sandra Fluke’s birth control?

Now that Rush Limbaugh has reminded the world he’s a tired old crank, and now that MSNBC has elevated Fluke to sainthood for bravely appearing before a group of fawning congressional Democrats, can we get back to the actual issue?

I’d certainly like to, and so would the Catholic church. Democrats? Not so much.

Forget about Rush and Sandra for a second, and think about what it’s like to be a practicing Catholic in America under Barack Obama. For years, Catholic institutions were free to practice their faith, protected by the First Amendment from government directives that violated their beliefs.

Which meant that for years Americans who wanted to attend Catholic schools did — knowing these schools were Catholic and that meant faith was relevant to their policies and mission.

For years, people who wanted to work for Catholic hospitals made the same choice, with the same knowledge.

And for years, people who didn’t like the strictures of Catholicism could simply go elsewhere. It seems so reasonable. So accommodating. So . . . diverse.

Well so much for celebrating diversity. A few weeks ago Catholics woke up to discover that the White House — without warning or any apparent reason — declared the religious exemption dead under Obamacare.

Catholics, not surprisingly, complained about the direct assault on their faith . . . only to discover that they have been declared the bad guys.

The Catholic church didn’t ask 31-year-old Fluke — a long-time activist for “reproductive rights” — to attend Georgetown University or any other Catholic university. They didn’t ask her to abandon any of her own beliefs about contraception or abortion or sterilization or anything else.

All Georgetown University asks is to be able to practice Catholicism. Or as the Democratic...

What a beautiful title!!

Wish Rush had taken the subject up that way as this title does, since it shines the light of a laser pin point on the Constitutional arguement, the Constitutional issue, and the assault on the Constitution.

Brilliant.

Whoo Hoo!

Isn’t it deplorable that we have to now applaud TRUTH? It’s so bad with deception out there that I have to believe this is too insidious to be laid anywhere but at the feet of the evil one.

God be with us.

If she smokes after sex, is the government going to pay for that? Smoking would cost much more than the highly inflated birth control costs she claims.

P.S. The right to sex is in the same clause of the constitution as the right to smoke.

Liberals don't believe in diversity of ideas or beliefs.

Liberals believe in diversity based on skin pigmentation ( excluding freckles) and of sexual alternatives. Past those two exceptions, elite liberals are the most closed minded bigots in American.

I think you are right and I also think RUSH would agree with you. He is human and made a mistake. He gave the RATS what they wanted. The RATS keep distorting it and will as long as they can. . . . .

She doesn't have a right to sex unless its with a vibrator or some dumbass wants to sleep with her infected coochie.

Sex is not a right because you can't force anyone to sleep with you.

She does have the right to buy a vibrator and buzz her socks off if she wanted too.

She wouldn't need birth control and doesn't need to get tested for diseases unless she shares a dirty vibrator.

It’s not about birth control.

It’s about making the Catholic Church (and, by extension, other religions) knuckle under to Government mandates.
