President Barack Obama on Wednesday rebuked foes who promise "three-point plans for two dollar gas," aiming to deflect election year attacks sparked by rising US petrol prices.
Obama's remarks came as he traveled to the swing state of North Carolina to visit a Daimler Trucks plant to tout a new $1 billion plan of incentives and tax credits to spur development of a new generation of clean vehicles.
"This is not the first time we've seen gas prices spike," Obama said, as drivers face pump prices averaging $3.80 a gallon across the country, seeking to ramp up his campaign for a second White House term.
"The next time you hear some politician trotting out some three-point plan for $2 gas -- you let them know we know better," Obama told a supportive crowd.
"Tell them we're tired of hearing phony election-year promises that never come about."

Gas was $2.50 when he became Community Organizer-In-Chief.Whe he leaves office in 11 months it’s expected to be $5.

Obama is the candidate who in 2008 said he was OKAY with $4 a gallon gas prices in America.
His energy czar is giving the country the screwing that these Lefties in charge WANT.
The public should wake up. Especially that ditzy broad who proclaimed she was so happy that Barack was elected because now she won’t have to pay to fill her gas tank.

“Voters understand that higher gas prices are necessary if we’re to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels,” said Stephanie Cutter, the president’s deputy campaign manager. “The average person wants to do the right thing, but that’s hard when gasoline is cheap. I mean who’s going to buy a Chevy Volt when its cheaper to own and operate a conventional car? Who’s going to suffer the inconveniences of public transit when driving his own car is affordable?”
“The President’s push to level the playing field so that making the right choice isn’t any more expensive than making the wrong choice is an assist that I think most people will appreciate,” Cutter argued. “It’s like your Mom letting you have desert if you eat your peas first. Or Dad boosting your allowance if you keep your grades up. It’s a pain, but it’s for your own good. We’re confident that voters will appreciate the President’s interest in and efforts to improve their behavior.”
The big mistake is that Obama made a video saying...”under my plan of cap and trade...energy prices would necessarily skyrocket.” I think this needs to be played loudly at every gas station and then play the tape of him suggesting we use algae for fuel. He would crater in the upcoming election if this were done. I already informed a lot of his idiot voters on one website the few months after he got elected what he had planned for us. Now they are living it. All his b.s. is not going to fly.

There are some gas stations (like Citgo) that have video screens at the pump that run paid advertising.
Some PAC should do a buy on these and just loop that “under my plan of cap and trade... energy prices would necessarily skyrocket” quote and the one where he says he is okay with $4 gasoline, that it just came up too quickly for people to alter their lifestyles in 2008 (when his buddy Warren Buffett lost a billion dollars pushing up gas prices with speculation).

The whole “fossil fuels” story is propaganda. Oil may be abiotic. There were no dinosaurs where the BP blowout occurred.
Natural gas (methane) is almost certainly available in unlimited amounts.
