"Much of the Northern part of Mexico is rampant with drug cartels and the violence and corruption inherently associated with such. "

According to PBS a couple of years ago (Lisa Ling did a special on pot) marijuana still amounts to over 60% of Mexican Drug cartel profits. These cartels also spoil public lands, kill intruders and import illegals with guns. The money is the foundation of their organization.

Over pot. Something at least 60% of America has used at least once and something 60% of America would use again if it were legal.

Already estimates are that those in the 3 West Coast states use at 25% at least once a year.

It is very, very common. I guess that makes all these people common criminals.

They’re making a nose spray in Europe that provides the pain-relief benefits of THC without the associated high. The drug manufacturers are allowed to grow marajuana to produce it. If we legalize marajuana, drug companies can more easily produce such drugs - that help millions with severe pain - and do so at a much reduced cost to them and us. I’m open to it. Marajuana is no longer a “gateway drug” IMO. It’s no different from alcohol. Those with a propensity for addiction will drink, smoke, shoot up, or pop pills no matter what the law allows.

For the record the Mexican cartels grow in northern California and Oregon. They have killed police officers and civilians who just stumbled on the grow sites. This is a bad business all around. Nothing good comes from drugs
