Report: Company who dropped ads from Limbaugh’s show asks to be reinstated (Fair weather friends)

Request denied.

A Limbaugh spokesman said that California mattress company Sleep Train asked to restart a “voiced endorsement” from Limbaugh that it had publicly cut off last week. The company said at the time that it “does not condone such negative comments toward any person.”…

Sleep Train’s departure from the program had been billed by some observers as particularly significant because the mattress retailer had been with Limbaugh show for 25 years. Yet the tone of Sleep Train’s withdrawal statement last Friday hinted it might not be pulling out for the long run…

Limbaugh spokesman Brian Glicklich on Thursday forwarded a copy of an email that he said had been sent to Sleep Train Chief Executive Dale Carlsen. In it, Glicklich wrote that Limbaugh had personally received the company’s requests to resume advertising on his show.

“Unfortunately,” Glicklich wrote, “your public comments were not well received by our audience, and did not accurately portray either Rush Limbaugh’s character or the intent of his remarks. Thus, we regret to inform you that Rush will be unable to endorse Sleep Train in the future.”

Via the Daily Rushbo, he talked about this a bit on yesterday’s show, claiming that two sponsors had already asked to return and that “one of them is practically begging to come back.” I don’t know why Sleep Train would pull ads if the prospect of losing Rush forever made them nervous enough to cave this quickly. They’ve alienated the right by abandoning him and irritated the left by going squishy over it. Have we learned nothing from l’affaire Komen, my friends? Rule one of inserting yourself into a hot-button public debate: Once you pick a side, stick to it. Sheesh.

They’ve included a number of local and regional advertisers Rush never heard of.

Rush explained that yesterday. Some local affiliates have sponsors that play during station breaks and some of those dropped his show. He also said that some have been asked to quit the local breaks.

Tell them to hire Fluke to pitch their products.

I'm sure Fluke has many lucrative offers from condum manufacturers to pump their products.

She could become an iconic spokesperson for condums, like the "Where's The Beef" gal was for Wendy's burgers.

"Senator I ask you, Where's The Beef?"

Memory foam is hot but latex foam is not. I have slept on them for over 25 years and never had a problem with them. I did sleep on memory foam at my son’s house and it was hot.

I'm confident that Fluk's partners have no anatomical need for condoms.

Select Comfort (SCSS), the company producing the Sleep Number bed has seen its stock price fully recover from the dip it took when it dropped Rush.

A Freeper (don't recall who) that works at a radio station stated this. When challenged, he repeated multiple times he saw it for himself.

If his info turns out to be erroneous, I apologize for contributing to the rumor. But he was adamant that Carbonite was returning next week.

On his show this morning Jim Quinn was claiming that Rush felt personally betrayed by the CEO of Sleep Train as they had been friends for 25 yrs.

On the other hand, Carbonite appears to be purely business.

IMO he shouldn’t take them back. not taking them back will send a message to all sponsors that jumping ship prematurely and without reason will cost them.

Otherwise the message is, sure get out if you get scared, we’ll just let you right back in and you won’t suffer a bit for having done it.

"I suspect that Rush who is a better man, may take him back somewhere down the road."

not a good idea, the message to sponsors should be-- if you're going to be a coward and bail over BS liberal made up controversies than you have no business sponsoring the show. period.

Allowing them, or anyone else back in, will only encourage more of this in the future.

I'm of the other mind that to take the advertiser back the same week that they left, would be justice, and just desserts. What a repudiation it would be of the Leftist meme...

Carbonite stock approaches 52-week low since dropping sponsorship of Rush Limbaugh show

While Carbonite decides to drop it’s sponsorship of the Rush Limbaugh show over their faux outrage over the whole Sandra Fluke situation, while continuing to sponsor misogynist Ed Schultz is dropping like a rock. As of the closing bell on Monday, March 5th, 2012, Carbonite’s stock dropped to $9.15 per share. They actually hit their 52 week (or one year) low during the trading session of $9.09 per share. Oh, and the 52 week high for Carbonite stock was $21.10. Seems like they have quite a business model running there huh?

Madison avenue lives (and dies) by the theory that ALL advertising is positive even if it is bad.

Madison avenue does not understand that bad advertising COSTS REVENUE.

Whoever approved the removing of the ads or recomended removing the ads should be fired immediatly.

I'm confident that Fluke's partners have no anatomical need for condoms.

This is something that has remained under the surface. I don't believe that Mz. Fluke ever mentioned that her bill for contraceptives was at issue. She only spoke of her fellow female students as needing $3K for birth control.

She has been, and continues to be, a staunch advocate of Gender Studies, Female Sexual Liberty, and other Women-against-Men causes. As with the hierarchy of NOW, she has no need for, and a complete hatred of, men.

My own personal, gender-preference radar alerts whenever I espy a woman who prefers to not wear makeup.

As I stated on FB...the lefties never learn. There are more of us than there are of them and when we get mad we actually do something about it that matters. Rather than sitting around in parks crapping in bags, we let our hard earned dollars do the talking.
