5000 MAINERS SIGN PETITION TO FLUSH RUSH (barf; but many support Rush)
radio-info.com ^ | 3/9/12 | Bob Bittner (Jibguy)

Posted on 03/09/2012 9:07:51 AM PST by raccoonradio

..and presented to Cary Pahigian at Portland Radio Group, according to RBR. Protesters also outside the building. Cary's response: “I do believe he crossed the line. But there also is an issue of free speech. What is the line? And who is the arbiter of the line?” -and indicates that the show will continue.

However, the term "free speech" is appropriate for describing relationship between the people and government; not between people and other people/businesses.

It's probably no coincidence that this petition was presented on the International Day of the Woman; yesterday.

At least three Portland-area sponsors have pulled out, including DownEast Energy.

Also, out of all the network commercial avails in Rush's show, now less than half are paid. The remaining are PSA's. And now, even the American Heart Association doesn't want their PSA's on Rush's show!

This has taken on a life of its own; beyond name-calling, but now is a women's issue. Therefore, it's an issue for all of us.

Umm... Ya ever been to Portland? Beautiful, all rehabed, great food, but very liberal.... do your research.

Perhaps they should buy thier own station and be the 1st 24-7 all "Burt and I" album channel,,,

"Stop freedom of speech!"

"Silence dissent!"

"Halt truth!"

Millions of Americans are unbelievably stupid.

George Orwell was a prophet!

“The brains in Maine are plainly down the drain.”

Ya don't have to convince me that they are missing a chromosome. Their senators tell it also.

Yup I’ve been to Portland but it is true their libtalk
station failed despite being moonbat city. I saw Occupy Portland’s tents at Lincoln Park down the street from city hall; no sign of life, but some of the Occupoids were across from city hall holding signs about big evil 1-per-centers,
jumping up and down. They may have cleared out the site
by now.
Two Republican Senators...but..Snow and Collins. ...Yup.

Stephen King owns a libtalk station up in Bangor.

“Which way to Millinocket?”
“Well you could go this way...no wait...you could go
up to the turnpike, or take that coastal route the tourists like...no wait.

“Come to think of it. You can’t GET there from here!”

“I had to put the dog down.”
“Was he mad?”
“Well, he t’weren’t too please about it.”

And what are some of the names on the petition—Mickey Mouse? Donald Duck? Was ACORN involved?

You can almost always tell a liberal woman in New England by the washed-out straw colored hair...

Seen on a bumper sticker in Maine: "Don't like abortion? Then don't have one."

Well, lefties..."if you don't like Rush; then change the station."

KMA, you power-mad marxist control freaks...

"I would guarantee that 99.9% of the signers have never listened to one minute of Rush’s show. This is the crowd mentality that gave rise to the 3rd Reich. These signers have no idea that there is such a thing as the 1st Amendment. They would abolish it if their marching orders said so."

Standing applause from me! Absolutely correct!

Actually if the WalMart greeter said “FU” I would know they are awake. Most of the time the greeter is off in dreamland somewhere.

Annie Finch of Falmouth led about a dozen women and a couple of men...

Where was Annie when Bill Maher called Sarah Palin a tw*t and a c*nt..? Pumping her fist in solidarity while watching 'Real Time', no doubt...

This is the crowd mentality that gave rise to the 3rd Reich.

Germans 'sang a little louder' to mask the sounds of the trains transporting the Jews and other 'enemies of the State' to their doom...

For some strange reason, a lot of people incorrectly think the First Amendment protects their right to say whatever they want.

it goes back to the "Free Speech Movement" on campuses in the 1960's (which was not really about free speech at all, but about cramming Liberalism up your nose whether you liked it or not)

This should be a teachable moment for everyone on our side. We better get our act together and unite against the left and pronto

On this morning’s Quinn and Rose show, Rose also said that their station received 5,000 emails protesting the station carrying Rush. It’s probably the same 5,000 emails sent all over the country.

Sheila Jackson Lee isn’t being inundated with emails from our side, and she SHOULD .........we’re too busy fighting each other. I sure hope we stop that and get our act together.

The media is now out there promoting the hatchet movie on Sarah Palin. Instead of turning off any show talking about it, perhaps WE should email all advertisers of that show and tell them we’ll no longer do business with them? I don’t know, but we don’t have the fight that the left has and we surely need it.

Yes, they should change the station if they don’t like it. As I said they used to have a prog talk station (at AM 870) but it flopped (well they still have NPR). In 2004 when Air America was launched, their Jon Sinton predicted “in five years we’ll have 500 stations just like Rush”. In five
years, they had a few dozen...and were bankrupt.

People made the choice. The vast majority chose conservative hosts like Rush. There’s a reason why he’s paid $50 million a year. The free market should decide, not a government mandated “fairness doctrine”. Your radio station, or your business, flops, too bad. Rush on the
other hand had been a rousing success.

Stephen King hated Rush to such an extreme that he purchased the radio station that carried him in Bangor; then changed the format to sports talk. Naturally; another station quickly added Rush to THEIR line-up.

Sorry, Steve...

Moonbats: “I don’t like Rush but instead of turning off my radio or finding another station, I’m forcing him off the air so YOU can’t listen to him...” (in effect)

Of course they do...they just can’t get through the day knowing that someone ELSE might be listening...it absolutely kills them. They need total control.
