OK, I get it now. We call 'em Canada geese around here. Flew right over my head.

Actually, the Canada Goose and the Loon are two different birds although they appear somewhat similar.

The Loon is a bit smaller than the Canada Goose.

I has a distinctly different set of cries than the Canada Goose, one of which is somewhat haunting. Another of its cries sounds a bit like a maniacal laugh, hence the name.

The Loon is a diver. I would see them them disappear when I was coming in to land on a lake and the aircraft frightened them.

The two dollar coin is called a Toonie. This even though the obverse has a picture of a polar bear standing on an ice floe barely big enough to stand on.
