The Fluke Charade: A Middle-Age Child's Nutty Demand
IBD Editorials ^ | March 9, 2012 | MARK STEYN

Posted on 03/09/2012 4:32:14 PM PST by Kaslin

I'm writing this from Australia, so, if I'm not quite up to speed on recent events in the United States, bear with me — the telegraph updates are a bit slow here in the bush. As I understand it, Sandra Fluke is a young coed who attends Georgetown Law, and recently testified before Congress.

Oh, wait, no. Update: It wasn't a Congressional hearing; the Democrats just got it up to look like one, like summer stock, with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid doing the show right here in the barn, and providing a cardboard set for the world premiere of Miss Fluke Goes To Washington, with full supporting cast led by Chuck Schumer strolling in through the French windows in tennis whites and drawling, "Anyone for bull****?"

Oh, and the "young coed" turns out to be 30, which is what less-evolved cultures refer to as early middle age. She's a couple of years younger than Mozart was at the time he croaked, but, if the Dems are to be believed, the plucky little Grade 24 schoolgirl has already made an even greater contribution to humanity. She's had the courage to stand up in public and demand that someone else (and this is where one is obliged to tiptoe cautiously, lest offense is given to gallant defenders of the good name of American maidenhood such as the many prestigious soon-to-be-former sponsors of this column who've booked Bill Maher for their corporate retreat with his amusing "Sarah Palin is a c***" routine ...

Where was I? Oh, yes. The brave middle-aged schoolgirl had the courage to stand up in public and demand that someone else pay for her sex life.

Well, as noted above, she's attending Georgetown, a nominally Catholic seat of learning, so how expensive can that be?

It is my understanding that she bats for the other team. That is why she is mad at the catholic church, and wants to force them to commit serious (mortal) sin. She feels insufficiently accepted.

LOL...most folks do assume Steyn is Jewish...I think he has some distant paternal Jewish ancestry from way back

but I think he and his close line are all Catholics

he has some arty folks in his extended family

he has been a disappointment this primary season...very much so

anyhow given how he is...most Jewish or Not? sites won’t claim him

so he goes into the Judah P Benjamen lockbox..lol...denied membership anyhow

i consider Judah P a hero naturally..I know you’re shocked

“No, the most basic issue here is not religious morality, individual liberty, or fiscal responsibility. It’s that a society in which middle-aged children of privilege testify before the most powerful figures in the land to demand state-enforced funding for their sex lives at a time when their government owes more money than anyone has ever owed in the history of the planet is quite simply nuts.”

Steyn really gets to the heart of the matter.

I'm a National Merit Scholar that came from a time and place where that didn't mean much. My teachers often told me that being smart wasn't that big of a deal. When I got to college, and later in my working life, I was very glad I wasn't one of the pampered little brats. I hated it at the time, but I am glad it played out the it did.

And don't even get me started on what athletics can do to a kid.

Mark Steyn’s patronymic great-grandfather was a member of the tribe, but in Jewish tradition, being a member of the tribe is matrilineal, and besides, even Hitler considered those only one eighth Jewish to be pure enough. So neither an orthodox rabbi nor a Nazi would consider him a Jew.

Mark grew up in London, England, moved to Canada as a teen, and has a pied a terre in New Hampshire.

He also has one to the most articulated and refreshing outlooks on almost any issue. He is a menace to the left.

She ‘testified’ that she is a “Public Interest” student. Apparently, if one enters law school as a “Public Interest” student, one’s tuition and fees are at least largely covered. Would be interesting to pursue, as “public interest” likely translates freely into “left wing activist.”

Her undergrad years were at Cornell, another costly school. Was she also on scholarships/grants there, or is she up to here with student loans?

Enquiring minds want to know.

I don’t think it was the case when Fluke was at Cornell, but now they have ‘full funding’ for eligible students.

These are costs projected for next year (10 years after Fluke’s senior year there):

Endowed Colleges
Tuition and fees $43,413
Housing $ 8,112
Dining $ 5,566
Books & supplies $ 820
Personal expenses $ 1,680
Total $59,591

That's something Rush Limbaugh might be interested in - or Hannity. The New York Times would run and hide before they would cover it... the bias would remind them of their own... If you're right - it's an outrage.

Thanks for sharing.

It aint over til Obama's over.

"When he called to congratulate me, I told Pres Obama
that after non-stop sex, I get severe constipation,
even impacted bowels, sometimes."

"Obama said he'll sign an Executive Order---
taxpayers will pay for all sex-related constipation."

Fluck ‘testified before Congress’ that she is a “Public Interest” student at the pricey Georgetown Law School.....wherein tuition and fees are largely covered.

She had to fillout financial forms to get these benefits----were any of the forms falsified?

Filing false financial info, then pocketing free benefits, could involve several felonies.

She dresses nice, has money for makeup, skin care, hair care, travel and dining expenses......

So why do taxpayers have to pay when her vagina on steroids needs attention?

She has so much money she has no clue what birth control cost... that’s telling too. I would like to know if she filed false financial info OR if the school gives special advantages to ‘liberal’ students. Because you’re right Liz, she’s appears to be living an upper class lifestyle... I’d like to know if it’s on our dime.

As a subsidized "public interest" law student,Fluck appears to be living an upper class lifestyle.

Probably GU receives federal funds to finance "Public interest" programs.

Ergo, Fluck's financial application should be a public record...and should be rigorously scrutinized. (Although anyone even remotely questioning The Vagina Queen's intentions is made into a pariah.)

Fluck seems to be a practiced parasite---she apparently gradated Cornell on a freebie.

Where are her parents---the ones Obama said were so proud of her whining about sucking off the public teat?

Are the Fluck's so poverty-stricken that they cannot afford to educate their student-parasite, still getting free education at age 30?
