CHICAGO — An American Airlines flight attendant disrupted a flight Friday morning as it was about to take off from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, saying over the aircraft intercom system that the plane was going to crash, alluding to the Sept. 11 attacks and ranting about the airline's bankruptcy reorganization, passengers said.
Passengers restrained the flight attendant until airport police arrived.

You know what? Im going to be charitable here and hope this woman gets sent to a nice quiet hospital,,is just removed from flight status, and not charged with some silly TSA crime.
I listened to the videos, and im convinced she went off her nut somehow. That raving wasn’t a rational thing. She sounded utterly feral.
It looks like the other attendants, crew and passngers handled it well.
She’s bipolar and she didn’t take her meds. That is totally stupid. I thank God they were still on the ground.

I think they would have been alot rougher with her if they were in the air.
I know if I was on that flight and we were in the air I would have been scared to death.
I believe it would have ended similarly. Americans after 9/11 take security of the AC they are riding in their own hands.
The times I've flown since 9/11, I've flashed my military ID to the stew. Most times they just nodded, one once said: "that makes 8 of you guys on the plane."
TSA misses a lot of stuff. Passengers on planes with disturbances have a great record.

Yes, it’s so reassuring to know that, thanks to the ADA, airlines have to hire mentally unstable persons who might be a fews pills away from acting like lunatics. Wonderful.

Good story really ~ for folks out there who have never had an interaction with a bipolar person.
This goes on twice a year and usually extends over a couple of weeks until the dosage is balanced, although with the latest medications there's less of that.
I kind of wonder if the coronal mass discharge might have salted the red light a tad and screwed up this lady's internal clock a couple of weeks early.
We are already scared to fly, this just makes it worse. She better be glad someone didn’t knock her teeth out.
Why would they even employ a bi-polar person as a flight attendant? A ticket agent, or a boarding attendant, maybe; but a flight attendant?
It's much easier to deal with when you are really rich ~ not as easy when you're not.
The latest medications can make this condition virtually invisible in many people.
Pray to God that you never develop the problem.
I was thinking the same thing, and PC came to mind. We have to be LIBERAL MINDED and give them a chance dontchaknow. I say she should never have gotten the job.
There's a lot of new stuff coming down the pike on this one ~ seems that the genetic condition believed to be responsible may not be "it". Lots of folks with the genes don't ever have it. Some show up with it later in life. It's not a moral failing!
Bi-polar simply means she works both the northern and southern hemispheres...either that or she goes both ways.

Whackos gotz rights! Being diagnosed as crazy is no longer a reason to refuse to hire a person. Even though the crazy are dangerous, as the injuries in this situation prove, “Agenda Uber Alles” trumps reason when an AgencyPerson makes the rules.
