Does anybody besides me think it is odd that we still know so little about this soldier? Makes me wonder a bit about his religion, race, political belief, etc.
Somehow, if he were Billy Bob So and so, from the deep South, NRA member, devout Christian, Anglo Saxon, male, I’m pretty sure the left stream media would have screamed it.
I’m still waiting for the other shoe to drop on this story.
I read the soldier had a brain injury in 2010.....will be interesting to see if that affected him .
However after all the time he’s served I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a severe PTSD happening. His beavior by going house to house...crouching down as if looking for the enemy etc., which the Aphgans stated he did... would indicate he was “triggered”.
PTSD can and will manifest itself as such...and the individual truly believes he’s in the place his mind has “pictured” and therefore his behavior can follow....
My understanding also is PTSD is on varying levels of impact. Some of which can be controlled...to that which cannot and needs hours of mental work with a professional to get these “triggering” events under control.
Regardless of his mental condition....the fact he turned himself over immediately after the happening tells me that at some point he came out of “his head” and saw the reality of what was around him. Very sad for this soldier and he should not have to face trial for this IMO.
