You folks keep saying that, yet here we are.

And there you will stay.

Oh, you must mean Little Newt, the man who says life begins at “successful implantation.” :-)

Santorum can't even beat Romney in his own party, and you think he has the chance of a gnat in a Tornado, of beating the Obama?

Unless some legislation about personhood comes up, in which case, good luck with that.

It looks like a private group. I keep getting the log in redirector. But it’s good to know there’s a group for that purpose.

I am a Santorum supporter.

Do NOT pick Rick in Alabama and Mississippi. Pick Gingrich.

Otherwise we ensure a Romney victory or near victory.

You can replace Gingrich with Santorum in that sentence and come to the same conclusion, yet you are still telling me that the guy behind Santorum is going to beat Santorum, Romney and Obummer to win the General. Using some fuzzy logic here, aren't we?

As in stocks, when it comes to Free Republic, I take a LONG POSITION.

That means, for many months, if not years on end, FREE REPUBLIC has historically, from the grassroots up, been necessarily an anti-Gingrich forum, with a preponderance of viewpoints toward him that was never particularly flattering, if not outright negative and unwelcoming. It is only in the last 16 weeks that things swung in a completely new direction here. We have seen such swings in the past. (I can remember 90% positive posts for McCain in the last few weeks of October 2008, and then of course when he lost it and then it came out how rotten he and his staff were toward Sarah Palin, Free Republic reverted to "default position". However, this only has a shelf life--and a short one at that IMHO. In my opinion, it shall just as easily swing back to the "default position" as it did into this temporyar aberration. The facts and many post histories back me up on this this. I defy anyone to prove it otherwise.

ME? I am keeping my powder dry and voting absentee for a Conservative who will not disappoint me, and one who I am certain if all Conservatives coalesced, could stop Romney completely in his tracks. That's how I sleep well at night regardless of how things turn out, tonight included.

Eagles Up.

Thanks Santorum supporter. Don't let the patent nastiness and vile nature of some of the people here, hiding behind their anonimity, get you down. When you are right, you are right, no matter how the battlefield is laid out before you, and often one must go through many trials and setbacks to reach the gold medal. I'm down with that.

"Sorry to rain on your parade, but Rick can't beat Obama."

You Newt supporters are delusional to think that Gingrich has a better shot. Whatever might happen at the debates, Team 0 will tear him to pieces as an old, fat, corrupt, establishment white guy. Gingrich's negatives are through the roof already.

Sadly, due to Newt's jumbo-sized ego, he's unwilling to do the right thing and drop out to unite conservatives around our true last hope. It's very sad, and I predict a Romney loss to 0 in November if it stays this way.

It's not Newt that's keeping your guy down. It's people like me.

If your luck holds out, you'll get Romney.

Think coherently much? ;-)

At any rate, Rick Santorum cleaned Newt's clock tonight in the region Newt's supposed to be strongest. I'm sure it rankles him to be beat by a Yankee in the Deep South. It was good to see Newt congratulate Rick on his strong performance tonight, that was the right thing to do.

Santorum just keeps looking stronger, he should start to pull some serious money now and that will help him decisively win the nomination. He's done unbelievably well considering how badly he's been outspent.

Yeah, I think so. Thanks for the nifty little ad hominem. Doesn't say much for your guy.

Speaking of your guy, I don't see anything in your reply that gives a basis for supporting Santorum other than he's been out-spent by Romney. In case you're new to all this, that's not news.

EAGLES UP American in Tokyo!!!! I am with you, if Santorum wins the
nomination I will support him all the way!!! I have to admit that he has
worked his heart and soul out with very little money and done very well!!!
I have hope for our country that someone speaking with very Christian
values is pulling ahead!!!!
There have been many rumors that Newt during his speakership was
very brilliant, however was NEVER focused, many brilliant ideas and much
legislation never completed boxes and boxes of Newt’s ideas NEVER
completed. I am seeing this in his campaign very unorganized, I have
always believed that a GREAT leader surrounds himself with GREAT
people, Newt does not do this. I was a very big Newt fan but I am
beginning to have my doubts, Santorum has no more money than Newt
but he is WORKING VERY HARD!!!!

“Yeah, I think so. Thanks for the nifty little ad hominem.”

Your post gave no indication of coherency. No ad hom, “just the facts, ma’am”.

“Doesn’t say much for your guy.”

Santorum’s more than capable of expressing himself on his own!

“Speaking of your guy, I don’t see anything in your reply that gives a basis for supporting Santorum other than he’s been out-spent by Romney. In case you’re new to all this, that’s not news.”

No, the news is that he’s winning in spite of being outspent, which is a big deal. It was also great to see him doing so well among women!

As far as reasons for supporting Santorum, some of my take on that came earlier in the thread. If you go to his website you’ll find many more.
