KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) -- A U.S. military spokesman says that no decision has been made yet about whether to hold the trial of the man accused of killing 16 Afghan civilians in Afghanistan.
Col. Gary Kolb said Wednesday that "no final decision has been made yet" about where the staff sergeant will be tried.

And the sickening part [to me anyway] of it is that there are sorry bastards who call themselves Americans who will vote for the sob again.
I wouldn’t want to be in this guy’s shoes.
He is already tried and convicted in the Obama administration, and they are just deciding now how they are going to toss him to the dogs.
The surprising thing to me is that it hasn’t happened before. We really need to leave that rat hole.
If they have a trial, will we learn his name?
I wonder how he was allowed to walk off the base in the middle of the nite alone?
I wonder how he was allowed to walk off the base in the middle of the nite alone?
Why is this soldiers name being withheld? I’m suspicious of the governments motivation.
Withheld so t er ror is ts ensconced in the US will not reve nge slaug h ter his family.
Just another thing to think about in relation to this whole situation.
What I find totally unbelievable about this story is that the village did nothing to stop him. This is a people that will kill their own kids for supposedly dishonoring the family. That believes that suicide bombing is ok. Yet not one tries to stop him in the actual act, sounds more like a set up to me.
How is he able to just waltz back to base.
They said yesterday that they have video of him leaving the
base alone and returning alone.
Right next to Osama Bin Laden's death photos.
"Shoot straight you bastards, don't make a mess of it."
mark my words...Barry is planning to turn him over either to the Afghans or some sort of international tribunal.
Ok they have a vidoe of hem leaveing and returning. But how can you believe the afghans did nothing. Sorry but it just does not add up for me.
I would bet this guy will be tried and executed long before the Ft. Hood shooter, Maj. Hassan, will be executed, provided Obama doesn’t give him a commutation or pardon.
If he is found not guilty by reason of mental or medical defect, then so be it. But otherwise, none of that excuses the plain old murder of nine innocent children.
This is going to be a capital case. That’s just the way it is.
I have little doubt that he did what he is accused of. My only problem is that he was put back into service with his brain injuries. I have no problem with the military doing their jobs but hope that he is also afforded an appropriate defense due to his prior injuries. Just don’t want any railroading for political reasons.
I understand that. And sure... If there’s an organic medical issue that caused this thing, of course that needs to be taken in and incorporated in the handling of this. But I’m guessing not. His “brain injury” was from a traffic accident with a humvee in Iraq. I don’t have the records but it is probably a fair bet that it was a concussion. If that’s true (and I may be all wrong) then his excuses are growing pretty thin.
