Great interview. - 14:00 video of Greta's interview with Newt Gingrich.

As is VanSusteren's style, she gives her guests time to answer her questions. Newt takes each one and expands on conservatism.

Some points discussed: The delegates, brokered convention, minority groups - Hispanics, blacks, unions, gay marriage -- inner city outreach, Ron Paul's "deal" with Romney.

Because his ego is bigger than his intellect and doing what is best for our country.

This is a reason you can’t trust Newt.

How folks think the economy will recover if we just back off a little on liberal policies without implementing conservative solutions is beyond me! Go Newt!

Possibly to give pubbies a more conservative option who, unlike Santorum, had some shot at winning a national election. Believe it or not much of the public will make a judgment as to which candidates actually appear bright enough and competent enough to handle the job.

Because he is the only candidate capable of undoing the damage and cleaning up the mess.

Romney and Santorum do not have the knowledge or experience to identify the problems and/or fix what is broken in Washington.

I will grant you Newt has a giant ego-—but you aren’t saying he’s the only egotist running, are you? When Rick Santorum was running so far back one needed a telescope to see him, did you say his ego was too big? Of course not! He stayed in until everyone else stumbled-—a very smart move. Now Newt is staying in, and I’ll bet one of the reasons is that there’s an excellent chance Santorum and/or Romney will stumble.

Which doesnt matter in any way if there is no chance he can win the nomination.

If Santorum is the closest thing to "Not Romney" and Newt is drawing barely any votes

but just enough to keep Romney winning then he is an arrogant ahole for doing it.

No, I do not really believe it is all about Newt and his ego. The fact is he is the only candidate who has actually benefited our country by four straight years of balanced budgets is important. He is using his mind (and ego) in a solutions-focused way to the benefit of all of us. His telling Greta about that energy account that would be dedicated to eventually taking care of that horrible debt, well, all that just blew my mind!!

Yep, he is the smartest horse at the trough, the smartest horse in the race.

No kidding! (Newt’s ego). Newt can beat Romney, but so can Santorum. Both provide an adequate although not perfect alternative to Obama. OTOH Romney is no different from Obama other than being backed by different monied interests.

***Yep, he is the smartest horse at the trough, the smartest horse in the race.***

If Newt was a slim, trim Clint Eastwood he would have the attention of breathless women and macho male voters.

Just more proof that the average voter is not paying attention to substance, but to style and appearance. Which is puzzling - because Romney’s speaking style is stammer and cackle - while Santorum’s is shouting and smirk.
