My Mother always said she thought the Government would watch you from the TV.

I always thought that was nuts, sadly, I don't think that anymore.

(I also remember as kid she told me that in the future when you get old they would take you out back and kill you, again I thought that was a bunch of nothing, but look at what they are talking about in Death-care now)

Old News. I’ve known this since 1984.

Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they haven’t gotten you already.

I’m not convinced your take on that is wrong. His take on our military activity does concern me. It’s my take that if he were to become president, we might actually yearn for the days when Obama only wanted to destroy our military to the degree that he does.

Our number of carriers would be decimated. Anything that allowed us to conduct foreign wars, would be greatly reduced. Our active service members would be greatly reduced. Our troops would all be brought home. Our relations with foreign nations would suddenly be limited to the diplomatic core.

Places like Korea, Germany, Japan... and other places would suddenly find themselves wanting to ramp up their military. Nuclear weapons proliferation would certainly explode. I don’t want to see old hot-spots suddenly head back toward the setting that always caused problems in the past.

I don’t think it would take five years before we as a collective people would say, “My God, what have we done?”

This world is not stable despite us. It is in no small measure stable because of us.

I’m not trying to give you a hard time here, but I’m sure my comments could make you think that. Sorry about that.

I’m sure you probably agree with more of this than even you might have thought. At any rate, take care.

No, but it’s obvious even to a casual observer that the rules of engagement in both Iraq and Afghanistan are tying the hands of our troops and causing more of our troops to be killed and maimed than would otherwise be the case.

While in Afghanistan, David Petraeus publicly criticized the Florida minister who wanted to burn a pile of korans.
Most Afghans didn’t know about the Florida minister’s plans until Petraeus pointed out his intentions, and rioting and violence ensued in Afghanistan. Just before this, a bunch of muzzies descrated Joseph’s Tomb in Israel, but no American in a position of authority complained.

I also remember the Holy Bibles that were printed in local languages and sent to Afghanistan by Christian groups here in the U.S. The Bibles were all burned under Petraeus’ watch, but the world ignored this incident and instead went crazy when a few korans defaced by terrorist muslim’s messages were unknowingly burned by U.S. troops.
