Florida man arrested for abusing severely emaciated son

A Florida man has been arrested for the "malicious punishment" of his 13-year-old son, who was so emaciated when he was found locked inside a bathroom that he only weighed only 40 pounds, authorities said on Friday. "His appearance was severely emaciated and described by hospital staff as resembling images of concentration camp survivors," police in the central Florida town of Titusville said in a press release. It said officers searched a house there Thursday after receiving a report about a child being unlawfully caged and abused, and found the boy locked in a bathroom lying on the floor. "It was later determined that the child would be caged in a closet, strapped to a bed or locked in the bathroom for days or weeks at a time over the past year," the press release said. The boy's father, 39-year-old Michael Marshall and his live-in girlfriend, Sharon Glass, arrived at the house while detectives were already inside. They were arrested after confessing to "the caging and malicious punishment" of the boy, including denying him food and care, the police statement said. It said the boy, one of five children living inside the house, weighed just 40 pounds and had been singled out for punishment for "stealing food after food was being withheld." "This occurred over a period of time. We're still trying to narrow down what the time frame is," Corporal Gary Boyer of the Titusville Police Department told reporters. "I believe (it was) over a couple of months, possibly a little bit longer," he said.

There always seems to an enabler either standing idly by or actively taking part in these atrocities. What is wrong with these people?

Vendome’s version of a just and proper punishment:

I would chain his hands and legs, then pull him up four flights of metal fire escape stairs, feet first.

Then I would kicked him in the family jewels just enough to cause a stomach ache every 15 minutes for 8 hours.

After that I would push him out a window letting him fall four stories into a pile of razor wire 5 rolls high and 5 rolls wide.

He could lay in the pile of razor wire for two days in the desert sun and then I would release a flock of crows and 1 gallon of scarabs right next to him.

But that’s just me.

That’s funny. That’s what he said he wanted to do to his son.

Let a respectable family take this poor boy and care for him and give him love and affection and a chance...and then let someone take his POS father out behind the barn and...take care of business.

I would do the same but would probably end his breathing thing he does from kicking his nads too hard and too often.

These kind of stories both horrify and upset me. I hope the poor kid can be saved. Sometimes they are too far gone when found.

What kind of monster could do this to a child?

If the other inmates go after this guy, it would be fine by me.

I would petition the governor to commute their sentences.

It would be difficult to commute control oneself.

Not all people are human. Its like there are several breeds of human beings and some just don’t make it. Animals don’t treat their offspring like some humans do, so they are really not only less than human, they are less than animals....

I would not be into torture, just a quick bullet behind the ear...not go down to his/her level of behaving..

Well, I never said anything about torture. I was thinking more along the lines of a 165 grain .30-06 to the lower third of his sternum.
