One man was killed and 15 others wounded by gunfire across the city Friday night and Saturday morning, according to authorities.
A 42-year-old man died after getting shot in the head on the 5200 block of South Troy Street in Gage Park about 12:15 a.m. Saturday. He was a passenger in a car and after he was shot, the driver drove to 59th and Sacramento Avenue and called 911, police said.

As someone who grew-up in the northwest suburbs - Arlington Heights/Mt Prospect - in the 50s & 60s, I can say that this isn’t unusual for that city. It’s just more widely-reported than it used to be. It used to be pretty much confined to the South Side; now it’s all over the place. Glad our family left in ‘67.

Chicago, not Springfield controls the system that makes the laws that hinder honest Illinois citizens from protecting themselves statewide.
