The mother of a teenager stabbed to death as she walked by a canal yesterday claimed her daughter was the victim of a brutal honour killing.
Laura Wilson, 17, was repeatedly knifed in the head by her Asian boyfriend Ashtiaq Ashgar on a secluded tow path after their relationship turned sour.
Her mother, who has never spoken publicly before, believes her daughter was murdered because she challenged the code of ethics which some ethnic communities still follow.
It is thought that Miss Wilson could be the first white victim of an honour killing in Britain.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mrs Wilson said: “I honestly think it was an honour killing for putting shame on the family. They needed to shut Laura up and they did.”
Miss Wilson lived in Ferham Park, an Asian and white community in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.

Eventually Japanese. Chinese, Viet/Thai, Korean et all are going to get fed up with being wrongly associated with the crimes of Muslims. While the term itself may be accurate, “Asian” brings to mind the above, not Muslims in most people. There will be some ‘saving of face’ involved rather soon I think. And rightly so.
Any parent that allows their teen daughter/son to become involved with Koranimals should have a mental evaluation ASAP before their acceptance leads to the death of their children. To put it politely. To put it rationally, they need their aZZes kicked.

You’re probably thinking of what the British would call “oriental”. “Asian” refers to people from South Asia. Many non-Muslim Asians want a different label (e.g. “British Hindu”)
Somehow, the term “Oriental” has become a bit pejorative in the U.S., and here in Canada too. It defies logic (given their shared status with Jews, as minorities who are actually victims of negative affirmative action; the term should be considered an honorific).

PC at it’s finest. If a person is from the area of the world known for centuries...thousands of years in fact as “The Orient” Only PC BS makes that a bad thing. If we can call Indians “Native Americans” based on their multi-thousand year existence in the Americas, then logically it doesn’t add up.

Agreed. If one reads the whole article, it reveals she had a baby with one Muslim guy, disavowed the kid, was sleeping with another, confronted the other Muslim family, etc... Sounds like fool waving red meat in front of a pack of dogs.
I think that this sort of complaint is simply different use of language between the Brits and Americans, and has nothing to do with political correctness.
In Great Britain, "Asian" refers to the continental Asians, i.e. from India and Pakistan. They refer to what in America are known as "Asians" as "Orientals," something that the PC polices have outlawed in the US.
So, in effect, it's the US that's gone PC, not Great Britain.
