That's interesting, because "oriental" originally referred to anything east of the Roman world. To me, "oriental" means all of Asia plus European Turkey, North Cyprus and perhaps North Africa.

Same here Fiji. But to me chips come in big bag from Frito Lay. To them chips come in little boxes at McDonalds and Burger King. Asian is one of those words that has a completely different meaning to them than it does to us.

I've heard they have McDonalds, but do they have Burger King over there? In the 1960's, there was a chain of hamburger joints in England called Wimpy--and the name was appropriate for the burgers they served. In those days, to find a real American hamburger in Europe, one had to go to a US military base.
