The article makes some good strategic points.

A few days ago, a Freeper posted this daunting worst case scenario about the Showdown in Tampa and, at first, I felt bad because I respected his perspective, but then I thought, it's going to be that way forever, no matter what, so why not do it now and do it with Newt to boot!

"First ballots don't solve anything so the delegates are released to pick Newt, Palin, Rubio whatever...right? Wrong! The GOP-e will be making the rules as they go along and like 1976, they will anoint Romney just like they did Gerald Ford over Ronald Reagan. They have too much invested in Mendacious Mitt to let a silly conservative majority stand in their way. Why do you think super RINO of color Michael Steele is so looking forward to a brokered convention—he and the GOP-e know the plan and they are laughing at their useful idiot from Georgia." (end of FR post excerpt)

If they try that they will lose the election, and lose me and many others as members.

Q: You know what’s sadder than the GOP-e taking over the nominating process in a brokered convention?

A: You believing that a brokered convention will turn out otherwise.

Our power is in our votes, not some mythical fight on the convention floor.
