Amputate or Die

It was a sobering dinner party last night... Hosted by a London billionaire in his exquisite home...but the conversation between the ten of us was stone-cold serious...

"You know what my biggest fear is?" our host asked. "It's not really Obama, for what he's done is to accelerate what the liberals have been slowly doing for decades -- so quickly that their socialism is obvious to everyone. Which means the solution is obvious to everyone. My biggest fear is that voters will give Republicans the power to repair America on November 2nd -- and the Republicans won't have the courage to do it."

An excellent article about the future of our country.

It’s not long and well worth the time reading because it’s OUR future.

“... not going to win this by pessimism..”

we are up against stiff odds. Realism a/k/a “pessimism” is needed right now.

The cost of Democrat jet travel alone for hogs like Pelosi and Michelle would be slashed to smithereens if government officials had to take a military HOV air "bus", get off at various hubs and take the final hop by small plane.

Commercial air travel only, except for an emergency session which would be by first available aircraft. But let's take Pelosi for example - she effective conscripted a US military jet for her personal use while she was Speaker. I missed where that was an enumerated power - but while I disagree in the first place with the conscription, I find it inexcusable that it was simply used to avoid using commercial air travel.

To put it more straightforward, I have far less objection to the Speaker of the House having the use of a military plane to travel from district to district to talk with members. But that wasn't the use, it was used to simply avoid using commercial air options - that's embezzlement. And the only 'police' to go after such abuse is the same body that elected her Speaker.

As a party Republicans are passing on Newt because of his imperfections while overlooking his assets that none of the other candidates possess while overlooking their imperfections.

“Then a well-known Hollywood producer raised his glass to toast his hero - Ronald Reagan. “We need him again,” he commented. I guarantee you’ve watched one of his TV shows.”

Ronald Reagan was the kindly and wise grandfather that many people never had, and played that role on a national scale. But our grandfathers die and we have to carry on without them. In 1995, the Republican Congress did much of what was needed and even got a reelection-minded Democrat to roll over on it. Newt Gingrich deserves our gratitude on that and I hope he becomes an advisor to the next President. I think all of the Republican candidates for President have the courage to do it, with the glaring exception of one high-profile candidate.

Thank you for the ping. Jack Wheeler is a very intelligent man. I’d read more of his stuff if it wasn’t behind a paywall (last I checked).

Will read shortly.

Everyone commenting sounds a fool.
... IMHO LOL!

We need 40 more conservative/Tea Party Representatives to control the House and absolutely, certainly bring an end to this horror.

That’s about 10% more seats.
That’s very doable.

But everyone’s ranting about the Presidency. OK, it’s too soon to give up on it.

But in two months or so your local GOP is going to present you all with Romney-clone candidates for your House seat and it will be too late for any of you to do anything- but more whining.
So get working now to get good candidates and save us all from socialism. And, most importantly, save me from listening to lazy losers whine.

Now I’ll read the posted article...

"Democracy... is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty ... is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote." -- Benjamin Franklin

Every good teacher who loves their subject turns it into edu-tainment.

Franklin could do that, and Reagan.

And Newt, of course.

Lets tell the 'rats to reach across the aisle for awhile. As far as DeMint's proposition is concerned, I no longer buy that crap. Not anymore. There is no irreconcilable difference, not between the GOP and 'Rats, not between Boehner and Pelosi, not between McConnell and Reid. I believed it for a generation-- slow to learn, I was-- but now I know that if DeMint really says that, he is lying.

Enjoyed the article.

The ‘Court Party’ can be stopped.

It is just possible that a country full of idiots, watching Gingrich v Obama, will have better sense than the collective will of a gaggle of idiot conservatives in a primary race.

69 million Americans did. And therein lies the problem.

A lot of them will stay home this time because he will no longer be the FBP (first black president) and as an excuse to conceal their disillusionment. Meanwhile, if only our side had rallied the evangelicals alone, many of whom stayed home out of a misunderstood idea that politics are "of the world," we would have won the last election.

There's no time to waste, conservatives! Call your local Board of Elections or statewide GOP and get working!!
