Santorum outgunned 7 to 1 in Illinois, 21 to 1 in Chicago media market

Rick Santorum’s campaign and super PAC have been outspent by a margin of 7 to 1 in the Illinois primary, with forces supporting Mitt Romney shelling out a total of about $3.7 million on the airwaves, according to a GOP media-buying source.

Romney’s campaign has spent $1,117,704 million in Illinois while the super PAC Restore Our Future has put in $2.556,353 million.

The Santorum campaign spent a comparatively modest $219,961 and the super PAC backing Santorum, the Red White and Blue Fund, put in $312,150.

The gulf was even more enormous in the crucial, expensive Chicago media market. There, Romney’s campaign spent $710,158 and his super PAC spent $1,367,125. The only pro-Santorum spending was $97,119 from the campaign, the same source said.

That amounts to a spending disparity of 21 to 1 in Romney’s favor.

IMO, the entire nominating process has been an Operation Chaos run by Dems. And it doesn’t help that conservative commentators have been sending out mixed messages. It would certainly be more profitable for them for Obama to win. They can sell more books, doormats, etc. with four more years of targeting Obama. Same thing happened in ‘96 when Clinton got re-elected. I’m disgusted with the entire process.

The other bad news is that Romney has “tapped out” a lot of donors who can’t donate to him again during the general election.

And, Obama’s super PAC will have 4-8 times the money to spend than Romney’s super PAC, as Soros, Buffet, and other Dem billionares will donate lavishly to it.

You are wrong twice.

Primary donations don't diminish the amount you can donate in the general election.

If you really have a load of money, you can always set up a superpac.

obama's donations are way down and in the general election, the pubbie superpacs will out donate the RATs by at least 15%.

You don't seem to understand how much money is being bet on this coming election by business folks.

There is pent up demand for release of capital in a market that is ripe and all it needs is a better political climate {without a communist}.

This has nothing to do with patriotism, "It's just business, Sonny".

Santorum remains competitive even while spending one-seventh of the capital expensed by Romney. This election is all about the economy -- doing more with less. If you care about the economy, support the ones that know how to stretch a dollar. And that rules out Romney.

Complaining about being outspent seems counterproductive. Part of running for office is being able to attract dollars just as much as votes, and the inability to raise funds is a reflection of a general lack of support for the candidate. If there were a ground swell of grass roots support for Santorum it should be reflected in his fundraising. The accusation shouldn’t be that Romney is buying the nomination but the question should be asked why can’t Santorum buy the nomination?

A Hydra Is In The Mourning After Pill
OBMACARE is a 1.76 Trillion $ Hydra a 9 headed snake
which Can only be Destroyed By A Firebrand
by L.J .Keslin http://www.theusmat.com

Of the three GOP candidates remaining opposing Mitt Romney . Only one man had the courage to take on a what they call a third rail issue...Eugenics... and has had his character asassinated for it... He’s been pummeled from both sides called , a women hater ,, a religious nut, ..a one trick pony, Santorum spends an hour discussing oil and the economy then 10 seconds comenting about pornography but guess what MSM and Santorum detractors will talk about... certainly not ,what’s really in the 1.76 trillion dolllar wonder called Obamacare ,,...!; Population control.... and all that goes with it. Including cost, 1.76 trillion.

To pay off a trillion dollars at $1.00 a second would take 31,668 years. At a billion dollars a second only 10 years.4 months.. Not including interest. There is no way to “fix” Obamacare.. This is a Christmas gift that must be returned by someone determined to do so not just exchanged .
Two groups late in the last century led in Eugenic development. The Nazis and the Communists. Few know or remember how the Nazis began. First citing “health risk” “nicht rauchen” baning cigarette smoking, Then terminating Down Syndrome children, and then on to mentally defective children and adults,. then on to besides murdering opponents, races. All done to make the German Reich healthy and last a thousand years.

So you go to the MSM (Main Stream Media) the so called “gate keepers” for information about these things and you find closed gates .. The sorcerers in the media magically reduce a 2000 page Hydra , a Greek legendary nine headed venomous serpent that must be slain by a firebrand ,and morph it into the mourning after pill and a “womans health care issue.”
The “gatekeepers” never tell you that Obamacare bill creators and the Amish are exempt from being in Obamacare. The drafters are on record actually calling it population control and demanding Catholic bishops support it.* Their statements are out there .But not mentioned by the so called gate-keepers but by the AM the alternate media, meaning radio talk shows like Limbaugh’s and websites like Britebart’s Government . Places Obama wants to shut down and will once re-elected *Joel Pollak Britebart Government .

Women surrender their rights when they buy into this monstrosity . That is what’s in Obamacare which is deceptively titled “The Affordable Health Care Act” .Yet Obamacom tzars who hail from that foreign land, the deep swamp of Acadamica are all preaching the utopian wonders of Eugenics. Why it’s the final solution (remember him ?) population control. Which is part of the Obamacare package.
Let’s hope Santorum decides not to shy away from this issue miss characterized as only a social issued. It is both a social and financial issue $ 1.75 trillion is in no way a minor expenditure. Population control affects US from the cradle to the grave. .but Santorum can not speakout and act against this despicable movement ? Particularly when that is being shoved on religious groups by the Demo-Coms . Especially when they are ignoring constitutional rights...

Recently private job creation projects rejection by the socialists controlling new demo-com party should send a signal to the Republican bleeding heart establishment . “Bi-partisanship” doesn’t exist with the socialists who have taken over the democrat party and to the GOP leading presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Mr Romney should start realizing Obama is a “socialist”.. Everyone including the monthly liberal magazine Newsweek knows he is but Mr Romney just can’t seem to get around to saying it . Preventing an iron mine in Wisconsin for a desperate area in need of jobs or preventing the Keystone pipeline transfering oil from Canada to American refineries decisions which would have provided employment to thousands and reduced gas prices. was not on the new demo-com agenda.which has taken over. Common good is not their concern but their welfare is..

Welcome to Newt's world. No crying now.

I think Rick would have gotten a lot more out of Sheldon Adelson's millions.

“Santorum outgunned 7 to 1 in Illinois, 21 to 1 in Chicago media market,”

Santorum has been outspent by Romney by over 10 to 1 in almost every primary. The MSM portray him as a religious nut who wants to hurt women. The remarkable thing is that he is doing as well as he is.

. If there were a ground swell of grass roots support for Santorum it should be reflected in his fundraising.

He has raised more than Romney from the grassroots.

Romney is almost exclusively being bankrolled by big-money donors.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/08/us/politics/romney-lags-in-gop-grass-roots-fund-raising.html?pagewanted=all

A spokeswoman said on Wednesday that Mr. Romney raised $11 million in February, bringing his total for the cycle to $77 million, much more than any other Republican in the race. But relatively little of it has come from small checks. Through the end of January, Mr. Romney raised about $6.4 million in unitemized contributions of under $200, just 10 percent of the money he had raised.

“Welcome to Newt's world. No crying now.”

The difference is that when Newt got hit with negative ads he folded like a cheap suit. Santorum has toughed it out. He has come close and won in several primaries where he has been massively outspent.

If there were a ground swell of grass roots support for Santorum it should be reflected in his fund raising.

And it is. Santorum's donations are overwhelmingly from small dollar donors while Romney is just the opposite. It was reported recently in the WSJ that Romney has tapped out his donor base for his personal campaign because most of his donors hit the $2500 ceiling. I also don't think it's counterproductive to remind people that you're being badly outspent either. It lends credibility to the strength of your message that you still pull a significant number of votes in spite the money advantages of the opponent.

Greetings Kazan:

Not certain this scorched earth negative advertising campaign in the Chicago market was a brilliant move for Myth. After ten hours, only four GOP ballots requested in this C(r)ook County precinct. We’re at ballot certificate twenty.

Cheers,

LOL! Would that be 20 votes for Mittens? At about 100,000 per vote?
