Hillary Clinton and the US State Department are backing a new search for the remains of Amelia Earhart and her famous Lockheed Electra 10E. In doing so they are attempting to help solve one of the 20th century’s most famous mysteries: What happened to Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan when they disappeared in the Pacific on the fateful day of July 2, 1937.

Why the US support for this effort? Well, for one thing, Clinton herself is something of an Earhart aficionado. She said that when she was growing up in Illinois her mother was an Earhart fan and filled her ears with stories of the aviatrix’s derring-do. This led Clinton to dream of herself becoming an astronaut – so she wrote NASA when she was 13 to ask whether she could qualify.
“NASA wrote me back and said there would not be any women astronauts. And I was just crestfallen,” she said in her speech.

Easy—Hillary Clinton has an affinity for ugly women both living and dead.

Probably another lie like her being named after sir Edmond Hillary. She was 9 or 10 when he climbed Mt. Everest, before that he was unknown.
Or going to the Marine recruiting station and trying to enlist.

The use of the word "aviatrix" is correct, because it is the feminine equivalent of "aviator."
However, when I was flying for the Air Force, someone once used the term "aviators" to describe male pilots and "aviatrix's" to describe female pilots (as we used to do with the terms "actors" and "actresses").
It set off a PC firestorm.
Today, all version of language seemed to revert to the masculine. Every best actress winner I can remember in recent years will describe themselves as "an actor" and not "an actress."
I have no doubt the Clintons could beat any lie detector and
truth serum!
So where is the D@mn picture?
Supposedly this is based on a photo of a strut and a wheel but none of the stories has the pic?
If Hillary Clinton were backing the search, she would be using her own damn millions, not my tax money. It’s a political stunt. She must have inside information that something has been found, and wants to use the successful search as a boost for her presidential ambitions.

Actually, while Earhart was a pioneer aviatrix, she was not a particularly good pilot, and neither she nor Noonan were really adequately trained or experienced to be flying long island hopping journeys. When you hit the coast of Europe, you can use landmarks to guide you. Not so over open ocean.
In cross country races with other female pilots, she did not fare well but, she was media darling.

Miraculously, she got her name in the news again.
Actually the real back story is even more bizarre. Erhart was a German spy and her plane was intercepted by a Nazi flying saucer from their Secret Antartica base. The purpose of the flight was for Erhart to meet up with the Nazi Space ship and exchange the stolen maps that revealed the true location of the Ark of the Covenant, but, unfortunately, Erharts airplane intersected the Space ships turbulence and crashed. Moments before the crash however, the Germans were able to beam Erhart to safety and with the maps. Clinton’s secretly very concerned that, with the help of the Mossad, Erharts plane is about to be found and when it is......there won’t be any Erhart. Clinton and the other members of the Council on Foriegn Relations are mortally afraid of any publicity that might resurrect stories about the Nazi’s secret UFO base in Antartica, especially now when its expected that Hitler is going to return from the Nazi base on Mars.

Actually, I also was inspired as a child by Amelia Earhardt. I read books about her and learning to fly was one of the dreams I realized. I also wanted to become an astronaut..but that was Alan Shepherd and John Glenn’s doing.
Still, I’m not against the search for Earhardt, she is still one of my inspirations.
Hillary! was born, as you say, in 1947. Sally Ride, who was exceptionally young, and the youngest US Astronaut ever when she first went into space, was born in 1951. Judy Resnick, who died in Challenger, was born in 1949. So while Hillary!’s story of being rejected by the circa-1960 male dominated NASA culture is plausible, it just shows her unwillingness to pursue her dream in the face of obstacles other women in her age cohort/peer group were able to successfully overcome. IOW Hillary! was a quitter, who is now a whinner.
Don’t take Skypilot’s post so personally. He was trying to bring awareness to words. Besides, he has been around for over a decade.
My suspicion is that Hillary sees feminism starting to crumble. The Fluke thing has blown up in their face and Planned Parenthood is failing fast.
She's hoping to re-invigorate the Earhart legend which so inspired feminists in the past.

With just a bit of imagination stirred in, it looks like Amelia and Fred ditched their plane near an island inhabited only by crabs... and died there...
With all respect to the deceased, it kinda looks like an example of a couple of people who began to put a bit too much belief in their own hype.
Then again maybe the martians got 'em.
