President Barack Obama is topping Mitt Romney in a poll of 12 swing states, aided by a boost of support from independent voters, a new poll shows. In these "purple states," the president leads Romney 48 to 44, while getting 50 percent of the vote over Rick Santorum, who would get 42 percent, according to a new poll from Purple Strategies, which tracks a dozen states likely to determine the 2012 presidential election.

Swing states' independents are warming up to Obama, supporting the president over Romney, 48-40, and Santorum, 50-39, after trailing the GOP field among these voters over the last month, Purple Strategies' polling

Polls have Obama in the lead one month, Romney or Santorum ahead another month. If the election were right now, these would mean something. It’s not, and they don’t. Obama could just as easily be behind by 4-6 points at this same time in April.

"Obama could just as easily be behind by 4-6 points at this same time in April."

Or, probably, he'll be ahead in October, when Romney-the-RINO is the Chosen One by the Republican Establishment Elite....no matter WHO gets strong-armed into the VP slot on the Ticket.

Get ready for the final nails in the coffin that once was the USA.

Anybody can do a poll and report it.

Went to Purple Strategies home page and their idiotic poll says the public is buying Obama’s claims he has nothing to do with high gas prices. So, they look like they are shilling for Obama. It’s impossible for this poll to b accurate in view of the NY Times, Washington Post and Politico Poll all showing the President’s approval at 41 percent or so. I am so sick of these propaganda polls I could [fill in the blank]

If you google “Purple Strategies” I'd bet the clothes on my back that you'll find Soros as *the* major source of $$$.Kinda like the report from a few days ago showing Georgia to be the most corrupt state in the country. The organization that released it is funded by guess who.

At about this time in the 1980 election, Reagan was behind Carter by more than 20 points. Carter won 6 states.

Bingo.

Obama is extremely unpopular among the general public.

His base and the media slobber all over him like he is a deity, and THAT is why this kind of crap makes “news”.

He sucks, most of America KNOWS he sucks, and he will be defeated regardless of our nominee.

Yes, it has. Lured by the draw of the welfare state, America has gone from the “rugged individualist” ideal to “submissive dependent.” And nothing benefits more from this than the liberal establishment. These are heady days for the forces of anti-Americanism.

“Get ready for the final nails in the coffin”

I can`t help but wholeheartedly agree. I`m old enough to remember down years and recovery years.. but this time America is voluntarily killing itself.

Very sad, but we had a wonderful run when we were strong, confident and believing in our greatness as a nation. Now Americans elect those who bow to foreign kings and apologize for their greatness.
