Get Your Petition

Against the will of the overwhelming majority of the people of Maryland, the Legislature has voted to legalize same sex marriage. But the people of Maryland will have the final say on marriage as we have the right to referendum. Maryland Marriage Alliance has already filed to be the Official Referendum Proponents to allow the people to vote and restore marriage in Maryland. We will have petitions in just a few days. Please sign up here and we will contact you as soon as your petition is ready.

(ONE MAN, ONE WOMAN)

So the referendum will be seeking to outlaw divorce. Or do they really mean one man, one woman (and then another woman and then another woman etc.)

Are you being sarcastic???

I think the goal is to restore marriage to opposite sex partners, and that it will be one partner at a time. No effect on how the divorce laws in Maryland are structured.

Or, are you a liberal who thinks that, because of problems with divorce, then you should allow same-sex marriage because of the all the problems with traditional marriage?

,,,,,, here’s the problem in the state of Md. ,,,, even if you succeed with the petition in overturning the law the state legislature will pass it again in the next legislative session ,,, repeating the process over and over until we submit . Just like the motorcycle helmit law and other unfavorable bills . I fully expect the in-state tuition bill for illegals to come up again . The socialist/communist polititians in this state have a firm grasp on Annapolis using the minorities and illegals as their pawns . Today 10% of the Md. population is illegals and growing rapidly . Corruption in the election process is rampid and Linda Lamone is still there .

My wife and I have decided to move OUT of Maryland now that our boys are old enough. I don’t even feel like I’m in my own country anymore living in this BLUE STATE.

I’ve signed on and been getting e-mails about “volunteering”. However, I don’t yet understand how I actually sign the petition! Do I just have to hope to track down someone at a library to sign?

Marriage should not be the purview of Govt....

let people deal with their church for Marriage

and let Govt. deal with partnerships, but not under the name of marriage....people already legally married would have their legal status converted to a partnership....of course they would still be married according to whatever church they were married in.

The petition drive strikes me as a very disorganized effort. I've been waiting for weeks to get the promised mailer. It's a pity, because Maryland is going to pull out all the stops to keep this off the ballot. Any issue-typos, nickname instead of full legal name, non-standard abbreviations-will be used to invalidate as many signatures as possible.

Also, be aware that they WILL publish our names and addresses. Bet on it. Not that I care. My personal info has been all over the web ever since I donated to support Prop 8 in California.

Marriage should not be the purview of Govt

That ship sailed centuries ago. There's no recalling it now. To take that attitude now is to concede the institution of Marriage to the Other Side, who will drive it rapidly to obscentiy, meaninglessness and ultimately oblivion.

If we can't take a stand for such a key foundational principle, we might as well just throw in the towel. And never forget that they are coming for our kids next.

the only reason govt. recognizes marriage is for inheritance and Taxes....and other money related reasons.

Marriage as a holy covenant should be between you, your spouse and your religious affiliation.

“Marriage should not be the purview of Govt”
“That ship sailed centuries ago.”
During the Roman empire (Justinian) actually.

“There’s no recalling it now. To take that attitude now is to concede the institution of Marriage to the Other Side, who will drive it rapidly to obscentiy, meaninglessness and ultimately oblivion. “

Yes. The problem with gay marriage is that is undermines marriage as an institution. The abolish marriage ‘solution’ is like curing a sprained ankle by amputating your leg.
