Obama tries to spread blame on Solyndra, Keystone
FOX News ^ | March 22, 2012

"Obviously we wish Solyndra hadn't gone bankrupt. Part of the reason they did was the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways Solyndra couldn't compete. But understand, this was not our program per se."

-- President Obama talking to National Public Radio's "Marketplace."

President Obama is on a swing-state campaign blitz this week, looking to stifle voter anger over high energy prices. While the White House is casting the trip as an effort to lay out Obama's vision for future energy abundance, much of the message is aimed at reducing the supply of blame.

Is anything ever Obama’s fault? Does he take responsibility and accountability for the actions of his administration? Or if things go wrong, is it always the fault of someone else, or some external force????

Remember when liberals used to lambast Bush for not “connecting the dots” to prevent 9/11? If Obama is so smart, why didn’t Obama connect the dots, to determine that the Chinese subsidize their businesses, and that this gives them advantages in the market? Why didn’t Obama, if he’s so smart, take this into account when deciding to give money to Solyndra?????

Once again it was the Chinese dictatorship being a superior model to ours. I guess China made him give Solyndra half a billion dollars?

Remember how smart Obama and Hilary were and they were going to clean up al the stupidity from GWB?

In reality Obama is a lazy idiot. Of course he could have put in the work to check these things out properly, if he gave a damn.

"Obviously we wish Solyndra hadn't gone bankrupt. Part of the reason they did was the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways Solyndra couldn't compete."

And yet, the brilliant minds in Washington gave Solyndra half a BILLION without never considering this. Meanwhile, let Joe six-pack try to borrow some money for a small business start up and see hard hard they investigate every aspect of his life, his business plan and his competitors.

Maybe China is subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in countries like America stupid enough to waste money on “green” nonsense.

But isn’t China building a new coal fired plant every single day? Obama is a selectively lying leftist phoney.

See, this helps to illustrate why we need Newt Gingrich as our nominee.

Newt is the only one who, upon hearing this sort of thing, will say “that’s bullhockey.” He’s the only one who will “question their premises.”

Santorum is too much of a limpwrist, and if he did try, would merely end up segueing into a rabbit trail about how Solyndra shows why we have to ban contraception.

Romney would agree with Obama’s underlying argument.

Please, Rick, for the good of the country, drop out and toss your delegates to Newt.

Obama is an arrogant jerk. I’ve known many well educated liberals like this who are legends in their own minds.

Tut, tut, “of course” he wishes Solyndra hadn’t gone under , and “obviously” that’s not what he intended, and isn’t it “ridiculous” for anyone to think he wanted prices to rise.

Exactly how these people operate, they royally screw everything up, they are exceptionally greedy and stupid, and they sleep just fine at night because “obviously” they are pure of heart.

It gets even better: the fault is that we didn’t out-subsidize the Chinese!

Basically, the GOP’s fault for being so stingy!

Allocating loan guarantees based on a solid business plan and likelihood of success might make some sense. Not my cup of tea... but at least there is an argument to make, there.

Allocating loan guarantees to Obama donors and bundlers as a reward for their support, with no attention paid to the business plan or likelihood of success is just graft, plain and simple, and cannot be defended.

Chicago on the Potomac.

It’s hard to accuse the Chinese of illegal subsidies when you’re running dumptrucks full of money into the backdoor and Solyndra, and you’re subsidizing the Chevy Volt to the tune of a quarter million dollars per car produced.

in ways Solyndra couldn't compete.

Using a different, cheaper, process than Solyndra, which was known at the time and a main reason investors were warned of the shaky investment and stayed away.

Except for Obama.

Great, you see the irony in his comment...they out subsidized us.

I guess we cannot even compete on the subsidy front either under His Excellency.

Solyndra didn’t “fail”, not in the least.

0bama’s donors walked away with a huge sum of taxpayer money,
which was the whole purpose of “solyndra”.

"Obviously we wish Solyndra hadn't gone bankrupt. Part of the reason they did was the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways Solyndra couldn't compete.

So he admits that solar power isn't about energy independence, since it sends jobs and money to China.

Solar farms, to the degree that they are effective, replace coal and natural gas. We are already energy independent in coal and natural gas. So, solar farms put coal miners out of work, reduce the earnings of coal companies, and replaces them with jobs for Chinese workers and earnings for Chinese companies.

Solar farms are an attack on energy in which we are already independent.

Good job Mr President.

Meanwhile, solar farms do nothing at all to reduce our use of OPEC oil. Again, good job Mr OPEC.
