ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — More than 900 students at a New Jersey middle school have been told no more hugging. The district says Matawan-Aberdeen Middle School Principal Tyler Blackmore made an announcement that students were in a "no hugging school" following some "incidents of unsuitable, physical interactions."

The slogan used to be "Hugs not drugs." But now that hugs are banned, what should drug addicts (in middle school) do? Is there going to be a War On Hugs?

“War on Hugs” perfectly illustrates the absurdity of the situation.Very clever.

I would settle for the schools being able to just turn out literate graduates instead of mind numbed texters and game players.

Isolate them and make them feel alone, except for the Central Authority.

Schools do this to parents as a matter of course. “Why, I’m surprised you have complaints about the lefty rants from the sociology teacher! You are the first to say anything!”, when there have been 30 complaints.

Can’t have kids forming circles of friends where information is passed, things discussed.

Will it be determined how much federal money will be available to teach everyone what is considered a hug instead of just touching?

50 years ago the teachers determined if it was inappropriate and a wooden stick or a paddle with holes drilled through it was the cure all.

Nowadays acronyms have to be weeded through to determine what kind of ailment the children have and what kind of mind altering drug is best suited to pacify them.

Wonder who complained? Some MUSLIM??????

ONE MORE STEP CLOSER TO SHARIA (no public signs of affection in Islam - aside from walking pinkie in pinkie between men and bowing to Saudi potentates).

I went to school in the 1950’s and 60’s. Nobody hugged anyone in those days. I think it was liberals who brought hugs to everyday like in the 1970’s. Never could get into hugging people one hardly knows. The guy hug really sucks.

Yesterday there was an article how they are banning “best friends”...And just think; It’s illegal for a parent to kick the sh^t out of these teachers.

Frankly, pre-teens and teens who engage in groping and tonsil hockey ( inappropriate hugging if you will) really need some adult supervision. Sorry folks but middle school ain’t like it was when we all went to junior high

Uhhh, I meant like, just hugging. Not inmate stuff which you are right doesn’t belong in school and probably not ANYWHERE with kids.

But then look at the crap they watch on TV - kids acting like highly sexed adults and adults looking like brain-dead foolish kids - especially white adults and especially white male adults.

A few months ago I was at a Christmas party at my daughter’s home. At woman arrived that I’ve never met before and proceeded to give me a hug. I was surprised, but she was even more surprised when I told her I only hug close relatives, and anyone I’m sleeping with, then asked her in which category she fell. Her mouth fell open for the lack of an answer.
BTW, I also attended school in the 50’s
