We have become sadly accustomed to California - America's Sanctuary State - sinking lower and lower into utter lawlessness for the sake of naked racial politics. But whatever they do in Sacramento doesn't even come close to the utter madness that is Los Angeles - which makes the rest of the state look conservative by comparison.
This week saw the Los Angeles Police Department announcing that it will soon start ignoring California state law, which requires police to impound the vehicles of unlicensed drivers for 30 days - because it is "unfair" to illegal aliens!
That's right. The LAPD's Chief Charlie Beck actually said "It's about fairness" to illegals. Beck says that the majority of unlicensed motorists in L.A. are "immigrants" who are in the country illegally and have low-income jobs. Therefore, according to Beck, the state's impound law is unfair because it limits their ability to get to their jobs and imposes a steep fine to get their car
Their "jobs"? Does Beck not realize that it is against Federal law for illegal aliens to obtain employment in any state? Does he not understand that these laws are there to punish existing law-breakers and also deter potential illegals from seeking employment?
Does he also not realize that a a 2011 AAA study titled "Unlicensed to Kill" found that unlicensed drivers are five times more likely to be involved in fatal crashes and more likely to flee the scene of a crime.
Sorry - you are confusing the LAPD Chief with an actual law enforcement officer concerned with protecting the public. Beck is serving his true constituency - illegal aliens and their La Raza protector Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
So while citizen drivers without a license elsewhere in California will lose their cars, illegal aliens in L.A. will have nothing to worry about - if the state and Feds do nothing about it.

Cut off Cali and add Saipan to replace it. The govt. of Saipan is corrupt.. but cannot match the nastiness of Cali.. and we don’t have to design a new flag :p
May only the family members of LAPD be the victimes, Amen.
A citizen of LA needs to file for a Writ of Mandamus to have the courts order the police to act according to the law, or face fines and/or imprisonment for contempt of court.
The same for a writ against the Mayor.
Use the legal system against them. The publicity alone would be priceless.

I am sorry but if government can ignore laws it thinks are “unfair” I am going to start ignoring laws I think are unfair too.
We are a nation of laws and if government is going to decide to become lawless, the people will either make government observe the laws or we will start ignoring the laws we believe are unfair.
I wonder if your black or white the same, ‘turn-the-other-way’ law still applies.

“Non-policing” is probably why many cops in NJ have been laid off - the impact on crime is negligible. Not that we don’t have crime - it is just that our urban police departments weren’t doing anything about it anyway. The fact that the teachers’ unions are stronger didn’t help; they won the bigger piece of the dwindling pie of taxpayer dollars.
So the state of Calif is cool with cities who allow their police dept to ignore state dmv laws and Team Obama will not address this as in cities cannot make up their own laws they like and ignore the ones they do not like.

Hell, the Feds ignore the law that says they shouldn’t even be here, what’s wrong with ignoring all the laws that would be inconvenient to them. I’ll bet that if they know for a fact that the vehicle belongs to a white conservative, they will enforce the law as a special case...
If the Calif buffoons don’t fire this criminal police chief, they deserve what they get.
To protect the illegal aliens .L.A. still has a few white people left in it. /s
