I’m up for a political discussion of why and how our immigration laws should be changed.

But our present system of fairly strict laws and very little enforcement is the worst of both worlds.

Common sense about the nation's immigration policy vanishes from the room whenever someone asks, "What part of illegal don't you understand?" It's a real conversation killer, that line. People who use it aren't interested in a discussion. They think law enforcement agencies should round up the estimated 11.5 million men, women and children who aren't authorized to live in the U.S. and deport them.

People fixated on the notion of illegality — the crossing of a border without papers — aren't interested in knowing why these immigrants might have come here, what hardships they experienced.

They don't care if the immigrants are employed and contributing to the economy in some way.

Yes. These statements are accurate.

One wonders if the author had any other questions?

I'm not interested in why a bank robber robs a bank either. Isn't that terrible of me?

We have tipped over: the rule of law only applies to certain people, and has always-—but not to this extreme though. When we see the Government suing states, intruding into the the Peoples business there in Sanford (and a President, of all people, stirring up the muck), we have been punked. Can the road back be impossible? Unfortunately, the balance has shifted; our youth’s minds are nearly all polluted with the idea that everyone is equal-—no matter how visible and verbally inferior to their peers they be-—and the mean rich people are just selfish money-grubbing men who don’t care about the children-—says my teacher who knows everything, and the union control system.

Been there once and will never ever go back. Had a confrontation with a Pakistani there. We were sitting at an outdoor cafe and my dad has left to go use the restroom. The guy comes over and just grabs the chair and doesn’t say anything. My mom stopped him saying someone was using it. He literally threw the chair down and I really lit into him (I was in a really bad mood at the time). He got all threatening and I dared him to start something but he never did. I think a sailor would have turned beat red at what I told him.

And the drunks, crazies and bums. OMG. I will never ever go back.

Why should we care why people don’t follow the law?

Today illegals make up 10% of Marylands population and growing rapidly due to the sanctuary policies . While the millionaires tax has run off Md’s wealthest residents . 0’Malley is now aiming to chase out two other groups of tax payers ,,, those making 100k and 500k ,,, leaving the bulk of revenues to be paid by the middle and poor classes .

Why does the author have a problem with this?
