Deals in Oakland attack that killed dad, hurt son

Two men have pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter in connection with the fatal beating of a 59-year-old San Francisco man on a downtown Oakland street, attorneys in the case said Tuesday.

Lavonte Drummer, 20, and Dominic Davis, 19, both of Oakland, had been charged with murder in the 2010 death of Tian Sheng Yu, which came after what authorities called a random, unprovoked attack on his son, Jin Cheng Yu, then 27.

Drummer and Davis pleaded no contest last month to voluntary manslaughter and are expected to serve 11 years in prison if Judge Carrie Panetta of Alameda County Superior Court approves the plea deal with prosecutors.

Deputy District Attorney Tim Wellman declined to discuss what factors led to the plea deal.

Eleven years for beating a Chinese man to death? This means they will be eligible for parole in only three or four years. Where are the calls for hate crime enhancements? The DoJ isn't investigating if they called the man a "chink' when they were beating him? Oh, the perps were black, so there is no way it can be a hate crime even though it's obvious they picked out his son as a victim of the "knockout game" because he was Asian. George Orwell said it best in Animal Farm, "Some animals are more equal than others."

And some animals are more capable of revenge than others.

After the attack on the Korean community during the Rodney King riots, the Koreans armed themselves, but the rioters did not return. This being unsatisfactory, the Koreans made a contract with the South Korean mafia.

Thus a plane load of heavily tattooed SK killers arrived at LAX. For several weeks they went hunting in the black communities adjacent to the Korean community. And to their credit, they usually waited for a black man or men to attack them before severely injuring them.

The LAPD became aware of this after several incidents and advised the Koreans that they should keep their necessary revenge discreet, but otherwise the police understood and if at all possible would not interfere.

I heard about it from a disabled Warrant Officer, who was very fluent in Korean, and invited to LA to act as a translator between the Koreans and the LA government.

When he arrived at LAX, the police picked him up and briefed him on the situation. Since it was a trusted friend who invited him, he also gave him a lot of the inside story.

You have got to remember that the ones who did the beating are part of Holder’s protected class. What ever they do, they are entitled. Besides, they were merely playing a game called, Beat the Hell Out of a Korean/ Chinese whichever the case may be.

It’s interesting that the story disappeared from the SFGate.com home page. I had to do a Google news search to post the story. I think an editorial decision to hide the story. Black on Asian crime is a dirty secret here in the Bay Area.
