New GOP Televised Presidential Debate in LATE MAY in TX - 155 Delegates - will it ever end?
Texas GOP Vote ^ | 3/29/12 | David Bellow

A Major Presidential Debate in Texas? This is pretty much unheard of!

The Republican Party of Texas is close to finalizing a deal that will bring a nationally televised Republican Presidential Debate to Houston, TX on May 24th, 2012. The debate will be only 5 days before the Texas Primary and there are 155 Presidential Delegates at stake. A candidate needs 1144 delegates to win the Republican nomination.

The State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) will pass, a resolution calling on all four candidates to show they have concern for our state by committing to be at the debate, and under no uncertain terms to make it known that the state party leadership would consider it a major slight to the state party and to Texas Republicans for them not to show up.

This should put heat on the candidates to get all 4 of them to show up

The Republican Presidential Nomination Race is being split 4 ways (Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul) with no signs of anyone backing out. This means that there will likely not be a winner yet by the time Texas gets a chance to vote in the May 29th, 2012 Texas Primary Elections.

Texas Should Go Back to Winner Take All

Texas has gone from winner take all to proportional because the RNC forced us to make the change because we were originally going to have our Primary Election before April. This means that Texas will have less of an impact in the Presidential Race because the 155 delegates that Texas has will be split up between 4 candidates instead of the 155 delegates all going to the candidate who wins Texas. This is not good for Texas because it significantly lowers the impact that Texas will have in the Presidential race....

Sort of like being charged a higher price for the “good” seats at an event and when you show up there are only “cheap” seats available and you have to sit there but still pay the premium for the good seats. We want a refund.

Will it ever end?

Why yes it will. Let the process work it’s way.

Impatient?

In that graphic what jumps out is “R” MONEY as in OUR MONEY. They can have a bunch of fun with that.

I have been praying for months now that Texas would go back to winner take all.

Romney has zero chance of winning Texas, and if it were winner take all Romney would then have zero chance of securing the nomination before the convention.

Lots of manipulations have gone on in this primary season.

I think we need firmly set primary dates with a rotating slate of states that will vote on those days with all states being winner take all.

“Romney has zero chance of winning Texas, and if it were winner take all Romney would then have zero chance of securing the nomination before the convention.”

Thus the RNC rules change. I am done with those canine descended vermin.

I agree 100%, Romney wins blue states he has no chance of winning in November or outright Cheats (Missouri Ron Paul coup comes to mind) While Real Conservatives are marginalized to the Side-Lines.

Again see my tag-line, the Not-so-GOP is on the fast track to Oblivion, just like the 1850's, it is a sad state of affairs we find our country in.

Very nice graphic.

Of course, I will now be hearing Procol Harum in my head for the balance of the day,...

They should have GHWB, GWB, Barbara B., and Jebbie as co-moderators!

Romney has zero chance of winning Texas

Do you think TX is going for Obama? Surely not with Barbara Bush out there leading the charge for Romney.

There. I have quoted you. Now you can attack the quotation and argue with yourself.

I figured as much. ;-)

I've got a kernel of an idea for a fake Romney ad, but I'm still working with it; something along the lines of "John Kerry: Now Available In Republican". Perhaps someone can assist.

I agree with you. The GOP got a second life in 2010, and has worked since then to throw that second chance away as hard and far as it can.
