Obama, top Democrats lay low as Martin story shifts

Top Democrats — including President Barack Obama’s re-election team — are now keeping their distance from the Trayvon Martin uproar, as each day reveals more facts about the teen’s slaying.

“As more facts come out, it’s more confusing for folks,” Sharon Gilpin, a Democratic political consultant, told The Daily Caller.

“There was a pretty intense rush to judgment … [but] it is important to get all your facts before you cement your feet in the sidewalk,” said Gilpin, who has worked on numerous Democratic campaigns and ballot initiatives.

“As tragic as this death is, there obviously is another side to the story,” former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis told TheDC. “We would all do well to wait for the facts to emerge.”

Rush seems to be highlighting an incidence of black on white crime (murder) on a daily basis. We should echo that on FR, post pictures of the perps to remind people that they all look like Obama’s son. Shove that phrase down his throat all the way to the election.

I have been arguing this thing on a liberal site and it is very much like what that “missile” off the coast of CA back in Dec. of 2010 did at FR.

If you remember, that thing split us HARD down the middle. When it became clear it was just a con trail (I’ve seen three very similar to it since I moved to my place in KY.) the “it’s a missile” crowd refused to back down and the whole argument became almost comical.

At this liberal site, people that I normally disagree with on pretty much everything are chastizing their own liberal brethren for coming down on Zimmerman. They are making the same arguments I am, calling them kneejerk and cherrypicking facts while ignoring others.

There are guys there that, even after the tapes, the eyewitness testimony, etc. have come up, think what happened is that Zimmerman tracked down Martin and murdered him in cold blood. And some of them, like those here who believed the con trail was a missile to the bitter end, are fairly reasonable people normally.

Both events for me are interesting studies in human nature.

N.B.C. played an edited version of the 911 tape that Zimmerman made. Their version had Zimmerman saying, “I think he’s black”. The part that was edited out by N.B.C. was the 911 operator asking Zimmerman whether the criminal was black or hispanic. He simply answered the question.

Makes a huge difference doesn’t it?

I think you are referring to the independent investigator, who has said she can probably reach the correct conclusion without empaneling a grand jury. That would indicate that she could exonerate, because in order to charge, she'll need a grand jury; at least as cover or validation that the "enough evidence to find guilt beyond a reasonable doubt" conclusion is not hers alone.

It certainly does , because it's obvious from the recording that Zimmerman's suspicions are based solely upon behavior, and editing out the question makes it look like race played a factor in those suspicions. Even after he gives the ethnicity and description of Martins' clothes, solicited by the officer, Zimmerman continues his observation of Martin based solely upon behavior, and he actually does a pretty decent job of it, if you ask me.

Shameful and disgraceful doesn't even cover it...

His father is not Jewish. The family are Roman Catholic. Members of the church they attended in Manassas, VA spoke positively about the family. George was an altarboy and church receptionist. Zimmerman is German not just Jewish.

Right. The so-called “mainstream” media has been writing the script on this incident since it first began. It’s amazing how far they will go to brazenly lie and misinform without a shred of conscience in order to get the political effect they are hoping for —— black Americans rushing to the polls to vote for Obama again this Novemeber. The aftermath of this charade almost guarantees it. I guess all the internal polling is revealing an indifference among potential black voters this season. Nothing like stirring up the ol’ pot of hate and racism to get the black folk to the polls on election day.
Only problem for the lying, instigators in the media, death threats against innocent people and the possibility of someone who is really and truly innocent being injured or murdered because of their phony, irresponsible fabrications are now a real possibility.
