Rep. Paul Ryan endorses Mitt Romney
The Hill ^ | March 30, 2012 | Justin Sink

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) is expected to endorse Republican frontrunner Mitt Romney before Wisconsin's GOP primary next Tuesday, according to media reports.

Ryan would be the latest in a string of high-profile endorsements for Romney this week, as party leaders have increasingly coalesced around the former Massachusetts governor's campaign. The Wisconsin lawmaker would join popular freshman Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and former president George H. W. Bush in signaling support for Romney this week.

Even Sheldon Adelson is saying it’s over. He accounted for 2/3rd of Gingrich’s PAC cash. And Gingrich needs 1000 more delegate votes. It’s over for him! I hate to say it. The best thing we can have come from this is a Santorum/Gingrich team...or cope with the horrifying concept of a Romney nominee.

I forgot about the guys you work with. This foreign enemy combatant in the White House is determined to turn the streets of America into Krystallnacht. The Trayvon Martin family is right now claiming that the police fabricated police reports, manipulated witnesses, etc. - all to stoke a race war that will get blacks to support Obama again.

The DOJ is accusing AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio of all kinds of corruption without being willing to so much as give names and specifics so Sheriff Joe can know what they’re even talking about. All this suddenly after Sheriff Joe responded to 250 signatures of constituents asking him to investigate Obama’s eligibility.

The DOJ, AZ US Attorney, DEA, ICE, etc have all been complicit in the deliberate arming of drug cartels with untrackable guns - an act of war against Mexico which also led to the death of Brian Terry and hundreds of Mexicans - and then obstructing justice, refusing subpoenas, and committing perjury in the Congressional investigation.

These are lawless thugs who want to disable the rule of law in America. Basically the same law enforcement/ROE type junk domestically as they are doing to the military - and for the same reason: to destroy the foundations of this great country. Our soldiers are on the front-lines abroad, and our policemen are on the front lines here in America, and both front lines face the greatest enemy of all: a system headed by somebody who intends to destroy this nation.

We can see that by what Eric Holder and Obama have done in these instances and others, including the Henry Gates instance you mentioned. What we know intuitively from observing the behavior is also now supported by what the producer of “We Will Not Be Silenced” says that top democrats told her: that George Soros told both Hillary and Obama during the 2008 primary that he intended to destroy the US and asked if they were on board with his goals. Hillary wasn’t; Obama was.

I will pray for you and the people you work with just as surely as I pray for our soldiers, and for the same reasons. God bless you and give you strength to do what you can, and bring us all together for the common good of this nation.

Very interesting. Haley’s performance bears watching. I wish he could take it to the GOP-e while he’s at it!

Well, some of us aren't waiting any longer. the following is from a pastor in CT. I don't want to post his phone or email here, but if anyone is truly interested, you can contact me by mail. This will amount to making contact with a few repubs, feeding and nurturing that relationship, and getting them anything they need in so far as info, ammo, etc, and sticking by them til they vote Newt... and then x1 x1 x1 x1 x1...

some grassroots are also looking at DE... another small state... technical term: upsets from under the radar.

when the going gets tough (the going is officially tough) the tough get going...

EMAIL CONTENT:

"I decided last night that I am sick and tired of all the Establishment Folks who really are NOT like us giving Obama another 4 years. Newt is the ONLY Candidate that can logically beat Obama and here's why:

I personally believe that the Democrats orchestrated a Health Care Bill that would be tossed out because they did not put a Severability Clause in it. Think about it for one moment, do you really think that Obama, the Democrats and the legal scholars that wrote that ObamaCare really omitted it in error? That makes no sense.

While I personally am opposed to Barack Obama's policies, I think he is a brilliant politician intent on winning re-election. For that reason, I personally am convinced that ObamaCare is positioned to be Obama's number one re-election issue. I can just hear him now "These Republicans don't care about your health. They have stacked the Court with Justices that want to see you denied medical care. We must change that."

Now think about it: Who is best positioned to argue against Obamacare: Romney who wrote RomneyCare, which ObamaCare was mirrored after?, Santorum who frankly can not seem to validate any position whatsoever sustainable against Obama? Newt the MASTER of all debates and logical solutions? or Paul who although offers unrealistic change and simply can not relate to the people with these extreme positions.

Obviously it is Newt and make no mistake: OBAMACARE is the most important issue in United States History!

So the long and the short of it is this. I believe that We the People are the only ones that can get Newt elected. I have a simple strategy but I need help. The Strategy is this: Win the election one vote at a time. To do this we need to undertake a huge task, which is to identify our supporters and get them to vote. Here in CT, we are dealing with about 150,000 likely Republican Voters. We have decided to identify the voters from the towns that had the best voter turn out (over 40%) and we need help. I am asking you to make a commitment of 5, 10, or 20 minutes a day making either 5, 10 or 20 calls a day keeping track of Newt supporters and ultimately getting them to vote on Primary day, which is April 24, 2012. We will give you the names and numbers, but we need REAL PEOPLE who ARE COMMITTED to do this.

If you can make a commitment to do this and perhaps find 5 other people to do the same, I believe Newt can cause and upset here in CT and then we'll move on to the next State. I am tired and I am not waiting for some miracle worker to figure out whats wrong here. We are the miracle workers!

If Newt wins 3 more states, he will be on the floor for the first vote. As it stands Newt can only be considered after the first round of voting at the convention (which would be Romney and Santorum first at this time).

This is my opinion: The strategy is simple: Keep Romney from getting 1000 committed delegates (because anything less than 1000 will be difficult for him to find 144 for the first round of delegate voting at the convention) and work to get Newt 3 more States. CT is small but it is within striking reach if we get out the vote."

I was disgusted last Tuesday when my State voted for Mittens. I am proud I voted for Rick and his Delegates including one Delegate who will hopefully be my next US Congressman.

I would like everyone's opinion on this. I foresee we are going to see droves of people we would never expect to come out for Romney soon. I think W. will be next, but I think maybe after Texas.

I do think Romney will beat Obama and it will come down to one thing and one thing only, gas prices. Everyone has to drive. Here in Chicagoland the price of unleaded in the suburbs is 4.50! It hasn't dropped.

Looking back on elections in the past gas prices determine the POTUS.

I do feel like many of these endorsements that are somewhat surprising is due to money and pressure from the check pants country club republicans...

I am proud I voted for Rick and got everyone I knew to vote for him. Sad we have so many libs who claim to be Republicans in this shame of a State.

This is all very simple. Romney is going to be the nominee. All these politicians know this. They are merely angling for their cut should Romney actually win. It is self-serving. Nothing more.

And this is why I believe there was a meeting between Mittens and Newt. I don't think Newt will be VP, but I think he would be a phenomenal Secretary of State or Secretary of Treasury!

No one can deny that Newt is incredibly intelligent and would be great in any position, just wish he were on top instead of Mittens. Why the Country Club repubs always push the RINOS down our throats just amazes me. From Bob Dole to McCain and now Mittens. GWB looks like a right wing FReeper compared to those three!

“Romney may not specifically hand $1.5 billion to the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt, but this isn’t a guarantee that he won’t do equally as stupid things ... “

You have made up your mind. The perfect is the enemy of the good in your eyes, so you’ll stick with your temper tantrum.

Santorum isn’t an open socialist who signed socialized medicine into law, he didn’t advocate that Obama adopt the individual mandate on a national level, and he never gave the okay on Cap & Trade. He doesn’t have a history of appointing far-left radical judges or supporting queer marriage. He hasn’t been caught on camera admitting that he’s a progressive, conceding that his only tie to the GOP is his registration, or anything similar.

With someone as radical as Obama in the White House, you have to allow for some flexibility in the GOP nominee. Santorum would be nominally better than Obama in a number of ways, and quite a bit better on abortion. Romney, on the other hand, matches up so well with the Obama regime that he would be virtually the same.

No self-respecting conservative would vote for Willard Romney the open socialist. Anybody who does is a part of the problem as much as Boehner, McConnell, and their limp-wristed friends.

An adult with the attitude of a 2 year old. You have that in common with the current president.

You know, seriously, you need to grow up. I disagree with you, and your first response is to launch off with a lame ad hominem attack rather than a reasonable response.

Unsurprising, since, I have to admit, this and previous threads that I've seen you participate in suggest that you simply are not a very intelligent or competent person.

The fact of the matter is, there is little difference between Obama and Romney. Period. You can line the two up side by side and you will find that on pretty much every major issue, they are practically the same. Sure - try to come up with a few peripheral differences like you did in your previous post (and, to be honest, we don't actually know that Romney in office wouldn't be aping Obama on those things, too). The fact that the effort is as strenuous as it is only serves to make my point, not refute it.

That's not "letting the perfect be the enemy of the good," if for no other reason than that there is no good here. Romney is a socialist, and he will be as destructive as President as Obama has been. In fact, he will be more insidiously so, because if he did perchance win, and had a GOP Congress, the pressure would be on Congress to go along with his big-government increases (as was seen with Bush), rather than the pressure being on Romney to allow himself to be reined in by Congress.

You know what will be the death of this country yet? Spineless, worthless, pencil-necked, pansy, fearful little mewlers such as yourself who simply go along to get along because you think this makes you seem "smart" and "adult" for doing so. People like you are the reason why this country is in the predicament it is.

“People like you are the reason why this country is in the predicament it is.”

If that helps you sleep at night, believe it. The fact that you’d make such observations about a person you’ve read a few posts from speaks volumes about you. Since you seem to be the sensitive sort, I’ll refrain from the “ad hominem” attacks.

I responded with intensity for a few reasons. First, and foremost, I think anyone who thinks Obama = Romney is making an enormous mistake.

Another reason for the intensity is I present a few of what could be many real differences between having a climber as president versus an America hating Marxist. You declare them minor. You add no substance, no additional information. You just declare them minor. Really? You are the final arbiter of what’s important to us all?

And finally, you simply disparage Romney because of what “might” happen. Well, anything could happen. If Gingrich or Santorum were the candidate and got elected, you’re certain what they’d do? That long list of newly minted RINOs, including Rush Limbaugh, and Paul Ryan, you saw that coming?

None of this matters to you. You’re nursing your bitterness over not getting your candidate, and you’d rather not hear about options. If you think about it... it is *I* who is being the positive one. I’m saying, Romney isn’t great, but we can survive him. A Republican Congress with a president Romney might keep Romney in check. Romney will do what he thinks the most people want.

Most here would agree, surviving a 2nd Obama term is going to be a very, very tall challenge. There won’t be hope, but there will be lots of change.

Try and be a little more positive, and examine the situation, not simply your ideals.

I too live in IL and after the election I looked at the county by county map and as usual it was king Chicago that f’d it up for the rest of the state. With the exception of Chicagoland and E StL the entire state voted Santorum including my part of the state (QC) which always goes Dem or more liberal.

I’m sick to death of Chicago deciding our fate in every election and there isn’t a damn thing the rest of us can do about it.

You could leave Illinois. 3 of its border states have republican governors, and Kentucky and Missouri are fairly conservative.

TBF,

The Feeney Book:

Feeney, get your book out.

Set down the name, the one Paul Ryan.

Feeney, have you written the name I gave you?

Well, strike a line through it.

That’s for him, Paul Ryan!

(Joining the likes of Demint, Drudge, Coulter, Tomney, nefarious Vichy GOP, and quislings)

Is Ryan conservative? Yes. Is he changing the DC culture by genuflecting to his masters- no! So, what the hell good is he?

Never to Romney!
