I associate Volvos and Subarus with liberals.
I was surprised the article did not mention the latter.

same push problem as the CorvairIt was only a problem if the owner inflated the tires incorrectly. Nader killed a very good car.
On the positive side, by the time I was old enough to buy a car they were so unpopular that I was able to pick one up for a song.

I didn't realize that the Reactor was built on a Citroën chassis. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_DS - bottom of page.
When I was still in my teens I had a neighbor who owned an exotic (used) car lot. He imported cars to the US, refurbished them, and sold them to the locals for outrageous sums.
Thanks to his generosity I had the chance to drive several early BMW's, Maserati's, Lamborghini's, a Pantera (obviously not an import), and a Citroën SM - the Maserati-powered one. That car was very odd getting used to but a kick to drive once I did. Talk about hugging the road! All very heady stuff for a 17 year old!

love your attitude...gotta admit its heavy on pocketbook/gas mileage
the bright side.. no parking worries/road rage or speeding tickets,
traffic jams... umm, I'll take three; two for usage, one as a spare.

I drive a Nissan Titian p/up, made in Mississippi. My wife drives a Grand MarQuis, made in Canada. I want to buy her a new car, probably Nissan or Toyota.

I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say...an XKE?? What year?
Growing up, one of my neighbors had (still has, actually) a ‘69 XKE, in pristine condition. Beautiful car.

I have 2 BMWs and an Italian car.
Does that make me an independent?

It would make you a glutton for punishment. The repair bills must be murder.
