I have additional knowledge not contained in the article. Mr. Wright is a twice convicted felon. His gun possession carries a local, county, state and federal penalty. None of which are being enforced.

Interesting; do you know when these felonies occoured? Speciffically, I'm wondering if it happened prior to the `68 GCA.

Per your cut and paste of the article:The article says “Wright was charged with one felony count of unlawful use of a weapon after police discovered he had two prior weapons convictions from 1968 and 1994, officials said.”

The first one might have been just before the Act, but the second is well after it and just 18 years ago. This is a "landmark case" in Illinois. Why isn't he being prosecuted/going to prison under either local (Chicago), County (Cook), State (IL) or Federal Gun Control Laws, all of which he's in violation of?
