When you note the ‘strength’ of his commentary...he obviously got the results of the Friday straw poll taken at the Supreme Court and knows how the results will go this summer with the final opinion rendered. He’s discouraged about this and fairly angry. Based on this commentary, I’d say that the individual mandate has been voted down, and the entire law declared null and void...five to four. So everything they wasted an entire year upon and he had to make various promises to Democratic Senators to get the final deal done....is totally wasted. You can grasp his hostility and how he has to form up his entire September and October election speech topic list.
The comical side of this is that he’ll start every speech in Sep/Oct....with the anger directed toward the Supreme Court....but obviously can’t do nothing to fix his health act. It’s now dead, and he can’t get any majority in the House to re-start it. Toss in a fifty-fifty split in the Senate for next year, and even if he wins...there’s nothing much for him to accomplish for the remaining four years. Legacy-wise, it’s a blank chalkboard except for winning the Nobel Prize.
I suspect he’s heard from his operatives, Kagen and Sotomayor, that deliberations didn’t go well and Kennedy has sided with the constitutionalists.
Why else would he risk negatively affecting the outcome?
