Huckabee Stars in RINO Radio
The American Spectator ^ | April 3, 2012 | Jeffrey Lord

RINO Radio?

Republican In Name Only Radio?

Taking on… Rush Limbaugh????????

And demeaning the audience of one's would-be customers… this is a business proposition? Seriously?

There's two parts of this discussion: talk radio and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

Let's start with talk radio and the basics. All of which are now out there in the Land of Google thanks to the sponsors of this project seeking -- and getting -- their fair share of tons of PR. So that being the case… let's work our way through their pitch and what they're saying. Saying on the record, incredibly enough.

Cumulus Media, says Reuters, recently "sent out an email blast to fellow radio station owners with a photoshopped picture of former U.S. Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, promoting him as the conservative talk radio host of the future." Cumulus, you need to know, recently swallowed Citadel, setting it up with about 570 stations across the country, notably including WABC in New York, one of the nation's largest and the flagship station for Rush Limbaugh.

On this past Sunday, the Cumulus/Huckabee venture to capture the conservative radio market got a roll out in… yes, really… the New York Times.

Says the Reuters story -- really! -- (emphasis in bold):

"They are going after Rush's affiliates," said one radio company executive who received Cumulus' email and spoke on condition of anonymity. "They are positioning Huckabee as the safe, non-dangerous alternative to Rush and saying to station owners, 'If you are looking for conservative content, we want you to consider our guy instead of theirs.'".....

Interestingly, Mike Huckabee has been doing political spots for TX Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst who is running to replace retiring Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison -- against Ted Cruz (Cruz being the more conservative choice).

Like this is revolutionary? The way I see it he’ll join the other two RINO’s on radio. Bill Bennett and Michael Medved. :-)

As exasperated as I’ve been with Rush and his attitude towards Newt, I’d have to be anesthetized to listen to Huckabee!

Maybe Huck will succeed where Ted Baxter failed.

Here’s a newsflash:

Jesus Christ will NOT be on the ballot in November!

You WILL have to accept less than perfection, in your choice to defeat Obama.

You do have the option of supporting the Devil, by sitting on the sideline.

Why not? 100 Million Christians took that course of action in 2008.

Go Ted Cruz!

Huckabee is no threat to Rush. They need to find him a new time slot, and I think they will very soon.

.....Huckabee is no threat to Rush. .....

Mike Huckabee fits the "moderate middle" label well -- sort of like Bill O'Rielly.

at least Medved has the excuse that he is still evolving out of the East Coast/California deep intellectual liberalism in which he was raised.

Huckabee going up against Rush would be an EPIC FAIL.
He should stick to stuff like Fox and Friends or the Today Show, where his talents are best suited.

In the book “Left Behind,“ a snake-oil salesman named Carpathian brings the World to ruin.

Dictator Baby-Doc Barack is our Carpathian as he tries to bring America to ruin.

Thankfully, I won't vote for Slick Willard.

No one is bound to vote for a candidate who believes it is okay to kill some babies. Saying “no candidate qualifies” is an acceptable position for a Christian. It is not a matter of perfection, but qualification.

Now you assign yourself as mind reader and knower of hearts?

Romney’s past has certainly wandered in the area of life.

Today, he states he is pro-life.

If you don’t trust him, that is your business, but you are certainly in no position to declare to the world that he is lying.

I think there is a relation between the recent announcements from Arby’s and Walgreens pulling local ads from Rush and the new Huckabee show just starting. Arby’s is owned by Rourk Capital, who are big Romney supporters. Huckabee is supporting Romney too. I would not be surprised if the left (MediaMatters) and the center-left (Rinos) are both trying to take down Rush and conservatism.

I keep on wondering why are Arby’s and Walgreens doing thus now, when Rush apologized over the incident over a month ago. I think this is the answer.
