George Zimmerman‘s father is still in hiding after the national media firestorm that began when his son shot Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, but he spoke out tonight on Hannity, explaining behind a veil of anonymity his son’s side of the story and insisting Zimmerman acted in self-defense. Zimmerman appeared alongside his son’s lawyers, Craig Sonner and Hal Uhrig, and argued Zimmerman did not follow Martin and only shot after he found his life in imminent danger.
Host Sean Hannity asked the elder Zimmerman to relate the story of how his son ran into Trayvon Martin. “He had been texting his sister and said he was going to the grocery store,” Zimmerman narrated, “he saw somebody that did not live in the community wandering behind some town homes,” explaining that the town “has had a lot of problems with burglaries.” Zimmerman confirmed to Hannity that his son tutored minority children and had defended a minority child hit by a car in the neighborhood and accused Martin of following Zimmerman to a street corner. “Trayvon came from that area where the sidewalks meet, asked my son whether he had a problem… he said no, and Martin said, ‘well, you do now.’”

Zimmerman’s side of the story becomes pretty convincing when you hear the entire tape - another section the MSM conveniently forgot was that when the dispatcher told Zimmerman they didn’t need him to follow the suspect, he immediately replied “OK”, as though he was going to break off his involvement - this attempt of the ‘rats to stir up their black base in preparation for the election could blow up in their faces.....
Zimmerman: “It’s raining and this guy is just walking around and looking about”

if Trayvon was traveling straight from the 7-11 where he was strictly there to buy a soda and candy and then was going straight home, why was he ‘just walking around looking about’ for a long enough time that Zimmerman thought it was suspicious? (note: according to the girlfriend, Trayvon did not have his hoodie on at this time)
Zimmerman’s father’s statement that Trayvon was running collaberates with the unknown girlfriend that was allegedly on the phone and telling Trayvon to run. Trayvon ran after he pulled his hoodie up.
Zimmerman is waiting on the police he’s already called, and he’s tapped by Trayvon. How did Trayvon get thisclose to Zimmerman, unless he retraced his steps, and why would he do that, when the safety of the dad’s girlfriend’s apartment was reachable by Trayvon had he chosen to go there?
How many times had Trayvon stayed with dad’s girlfriend, and how well did Trayvon’s stepbrother and dad’s girlfriend mom, know Zimmerman? Did Trayvon already know who Zimmerman was?
Everyone quotes the police as telling him that he didn't have to follow Martin. What about this, where the police told him to watch and let them know if Martin did anything other than looking about?

He told me, and I'm paraphrasing this quote, but read between the lines. There's some stereotyping going on here. ...Man, reading the transcript, Blitzer is so vapid.TUCHMAN: It sounds like -- and we wanted to leave it up to the viewer -- but it sounds like we're hearing the swear word at first and then the word cold. And the reason some say that would be relevant is because it was unseasonably cold in Florida that night and raining. So that is what some supporters of Zimmerman are saying, that that would make sense if he was saying the word cold. But that is what it sounds like to you?

Was Lt Sereno the partner of the Lt whose son Zimmerman was organizing the black community against? Haven’t been able to find that officers position on the force.
Sereno was supposidly (two articles from black bloggers) the same officer that investigated that incident, but was he?
I don't know. I've read articles that say so. At this point, I think the statement "Serino wanted to arrest Zimmerman on 26/27 February" is false. Giving Serino the benefit of the doubt, and assuming he is irritated that Zimmerman was agitating the public against the police line on a different case, accusing somebody of manslaughter (without any supporting evidence) as a means of "getting even" goes way too far.

Perhaps the most significant incident occurred in late 2010: Justin Collison, the son of a Sanford PD lieutenant, sucker-punched a homeless black man outside a bar, and officers on the scene released Collison without charges. He eventually surrendered after video of the incident materialized online. The police chief at the time was ultimately forced into retirement. "Bottom line, we didn't do our job that night," a Police Department representative told WFTV of the incident. The TV station later learned that the Sanford patrol sergeant in charge on the night of Collison's assault, Anthony Raimondo, was also the first supervisor on the scene of Trayvon Martin's shooting death.
Finding that the supervisor, Raimondo, is the same is a ho-hum finding.

Officers on scene never handcuffed [Collison] or even patted him down. They said accounts of the fight were conflicting. ...Now seven officers, including a sergeant and a lieutenant, will face an internal review for not making an arrest after suspicion of a felony.
So, I looked for reports relating to a Collison internal investigation. Here's one:

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation into how Sanford police handled the case. It looked at the involvement of 11 officers, including then-Chief Brian Tooley.I haven't obtained it, but here is a link to a scribd archive of the Administrative Investigation - Justin Collison Case.The report shows that two officers were on the verge of arresting Collison that night until Sgt. Anthony Raimondo said otherwise.
Other information in the report:
One of the first officers at the scene was Zachary Glenn, who ordered Collison to sit in the back of a patrol car. Collison then told him he was the son of Sanford police Lt. Chris Collison, Glenn told the internal-affairs investigator.
Collison phoned his father, and his father called Raimondo. Lt. Collison did not ask for special treatment, Raimondo said.
Raimondo made the no-arrest decision after talking to watch commander Lt. Mike Taylor, who also was at the scene. Both men said that was because the man who was knocked out, Sherman Ware, did not give police a sworn statement.

It seems the pressure on the police to address the Collison incident came from many angles, and I figure Zimmerman was pissant in the scheme of things.
If you want to find Serino biased against Zimmerman (with the bias relating to the Collison incident), then you need to find out the relationship between Raimondo and Serino. Another (fantasy) possibility is that Raimondo has some sort of power over Serino, as a friend or superior; and that (assuming he is overboard in his action against Zimmerman) Serino is acting at the behest or Raimondo.
Conspiracy theories are great fun, being unbound by a need to connect all the dots. Both cops are in the same police department, that's enough of a connection.

The officers whom Zimmerman targeted for accountability in the Sherman Ware incident were all cleared by the Seminole County Sheriff's investigation, despite Zimmerman's repeated accusations that police gave kid-glove treatment to a white officer's son who beat a defenseless, homeless black man.But 14 months later, at least two of the same officers investigated the shooting death of Trayvon Martin -- and cleared Zimmerman -- even though his voice was the loudest calling for their punishment in the Ware case.
One of those officers was Timothy Smith. According to a police incident report from the scene of the Feb. 26 shooting, Officer Smith handcuffed Zimmerman and transported him to the police station. Another was Sergeant Anthony Raimondo, who was on scene with Smith and other local officers.
