Va. school teacher thinks ‘Republicans are stupid’ By Kalyn McMackin - The Daily Caller 12:05 AM 04/05/2012

A Virginia elementary school teacher told her students that “Republicans are stupid” and “they don’t care about anyone but wealthy people and businesses.”

Kristin Martin said this to her 6th grade class as Republican voters were filing into the halls of Powell Elementary School in Fairfax County to vote on Super Tuesday.

“It all started when this disabled kid came in and named all the Republicans candidates for Super Tuesday,” one student told The Daily Caller. “She [Martin] said to him, ‘I don’t like them, I think that they are stupid.’”

Martin’s statements were “brainwashing” students, according to one mother, who said she is a Republican and asked not to be named to protect her daughter from retaliation.

“I felt like the teacher was brainwashing naive, young children to believe people like me, my family and, to a certain extent, my daughter, were stupid,” she told TheDC via email.

The mother came forward with her daughter’s story after TheDC first reported on another Fairfax County teacher who instructed his students to conduct opposition research on Republican candidates for president. (RELATED: Va. middle-schoolers assigned opposition research on GOP candidates)

Additionally, her daughter relayed that Martin told the classroom that she had voted for Obama and that “Democrats do more for the community and schools.”

Indoctrination.

Business as usual in the “public” schools.

Teachers have been saying the same in so many words in public classrooms for decades.

It seems many are more concerned with protecting their jobs & pensions than they are educating our kids.

I agree, her opinions should be kept to herself. I would also fire her.

She should be immediately fired ... But of course that will never happen because of the teacher unions. I have zero respect for any teacher that belongs to a union. It is a sure sign that they really do not care about “our childrens’ future.”

I’m very conservative and I teach math and science, the old school way. There are a few of us around but not many, I don’t know how much longer I can keep teaching. I am reminded daily of how ashamed of my profession I have become.

Fire her and every other “teacher” in public education. Government schools are nothing but left wing indoctrination centers where our kids are fed propaganda for years. No one should ever send their child to a government school. If we really want to reform this country, the revolution starts by shutting down the government indoctrination schools.

Stupid? The progressives have been wildly successful since the days of Wilson and FDR. They have advanced their utopian socialist agenda to the point that the American sheeple elected a full blown Marxist with questionable eligibility to the highest office in the nation.
HARDLY STUPID.
More like dangerously cunning.

A teachable moment for the whole school. Make the teacher apologize and hold an assembly on America's founding, its founding documents, and a non-partisan explanation of our current two-party system and its origins.

Many students, teachers, administrators, and parents would probably learn A LOT.

Colin Powell Elementary School. A politically correct name but one linked at least to a degree to the GOP.

This constant refrain that Republicans are only rich people makes no sense. How many rich voters are there compared to middle class and poor ones (who, I guess, according to the liberal side, would all be Democrats as they count them)? Seems to me that the “rich” by definition are far fewer in population than the rest. How in the WORLD can ANY Republicans get elected when there must be so few of them?

Now, if among Republicans there are those who are NOT rich (and of course there are), are liberals saying that the middle class and poor also only care about the rich, and not themselves?

How does this argument stand up?

We pre-emptively “fired” all public school teachers by homeschooling.

Things were bad in the seventies, when I was in HS, and from the stories my kids bring home today they’ve only gotten worse. You deserve props for lasting this long.

“A Virginia elementary school teacher told her students that “Republicans are stupid” and “they don’t care about anyone but wealthy people and businesses.”

I can then conclude that only the stupid reach levels of success...right? Ok, if you are to stupid to “do” then I suppose you teach stupidly.
