Celebrating his victory in the Democratic primary on Tuesday night, Barry spoke up about the prominence of businesses owned by Asians in the District.
“We got to do something about these Asians coming in and opening up businesses and dirty shops,” Barry said in remarks first reported by WRC-TV. “They ought to go. I’m going to say that right now. But we need African-American businesspeople to be able to take their places, too.”
Barry, who won't be opposed in November's general election as he seeks his third consecutive term on the D.C. Council, was unavailable for comment Thursday morning.

What is the actual date of this story? I'm not sure I'm buying it based on what you posted. Obama is looking for a 3rd term on the city council? Something doesn't seem right here.

I bet Barry would condemn the Asians who open shops in black neighborhoods and take their profits to their own neighborhoods as “stealing” from those communities,
and would not condemn the thugs who steal from those stores and drive them out of business.

At a Chinese restaurant I frequent, the waitresses (who don’t earn that much) have kids who studied and worked hard. They became researchers and doctors. One of the sons is a top neurosurgeon in Phoenix. In the forty years that I have known these folks, none has collected welfare or unemployment (although at times they could have), leaving that much more entitlement for Mr. Barry.
Reminds me of the old joke about two Arabs sitting in the middle of the desert, complaining about the Jews: “You let one Jew in here and the next thing you known they’ve turned the place into a garden!”
