Charles Manson, Now 77, Gets New Chance at Parole
Los Angeles Times ^ | April 5, 2012

Posted on 04/05/2012 12:24:20 PM PDT by nickcarraway

After 11 failed bids for freedom, notorious killer Charles Manson, now 77, is up for parole later this month.

The parole board rejected his bid in 2007, saying Manson [For the record, 9:42 a.m. April 5: An earlier version of this post incorrectly gave the killer's last name as Mason.] "continues to pose an unreasonable danger to others and may still bring harm to anyone he would come in contact with."

Manson refused to participate in that hearing, describing himself as a "prisoner of the political system." He also declined to participate in any psychological evaluations in 2007.

"He refused to cooperate, so the conclusion they drew from the reports is he still remains a danger to the public," Los Angeles County Deputy Dist. Atty. Patrick Sequeira said at the time. "He was convicted of nine horrible murders. He has expressed no remorse or empathy for any of the victims."

A new photo released by state prison system shows Manson with long, gray hair and a beard. It was released at the request of CNN in advance of next Wednesday's parole hearing.

Manson and other members of his so-called family were convicted of killing actress Sharon Tate and six other people during a bloody rampage in the Los Angeles area during two August nights in 1969. Prosecutors said that Manson and his followers were trying to incite a race war that he believed was prophesized in the Beatles' song "Helter Skelter."

Tate, the wife of director Roman Polanski, was 8 1/2 months pregnant when she was killed at her hilltop home in Benedict Canyon on Aug. 9, 1969. Besides Tate, four others were stabbed and shot to death including Jay Sebring, 35; Voytek Frykowski, 32; Abigail Folger, 25, a coffee heiress; and Steven Parent, 18, a friend of Tate's caretaker.

Manson is certifiably nuts. If he ever gets out of prison, he’ll be committed to an asylum for the rest of his natural life.

Evil just doesn’t die.

This is the pic the media would use if Manson were black.

I don’t care if that SOB is 177. He’s still nuts and still dangerous. He needs to be locked up until he assumes room temperature.

They probably will release him so he can campaign for BHO.

Tex Watson, the Manson family member who did the knifing, got married while in prison. He has children as a result of conjugal visits in prison. If there are there any single ladies out there looking for a husband, contact the California Department of Corrections. Charlie is available.

Carve “Mohammed is a Jewish child molestor” in his forehead and release him in dearborn michigan. If he kills some moslems or if some moslems kill him, everyone wins.

I’d be tempted to say they’ll release him just to get another vote for Obama in 2012.

But I suspect Manson has been voting for Democrats since he was incarcerated.

Likely multiple times each election and in several states simultaneously.

He’s every bit as dangerous now as when he went to prison. He’ll be paroled just as soon as Sirhan is!

Soooo - if I’m reading this right Charlie petitions the board for parole but then declines to participate in the hearing or have a psych eval done? If so he’s just gaming the system (which is what he’s done is whole miserable life) and there is no imminent danger of him getting out - he’s basically just creating work for someone on the parole board and giving some “journalists” something to write about.

Maybe there some even more convoluted agenda at work here as well - like he gets some library time or something like that to write his appeal.

The big mystery about Manson is how did he get those kids to kill for him?

Tex Watson has a bio up on his website that pretty much walks you through the process. Manson was a con man / manipulator (he's still at it, btw). Mostly though, I think it was lots and lots of drugs.

Many of the "family" are unrepentant. IMHO, They can all rot in hell.

It is a mystery to me how it works, but the same way cult leaders can convince their followers to do anything they want them to do. The Manson family was very much a cult; I knew a girl that ran away from home and ended up with the Manson family- she was lucky enough or smart enough to leave them and return home a few weeks before the murders. She did not like to talk about her experiences but did say everyone there thought “Charlie” was special and God-like. Lots of drugs also helped him get his way I am sure.

Actually, William B. Keene, who later was the judge in the TV show Divorce Court was the first judge in Manson’s trial until he removed himself.

Advice to Charlie, write two words on a piece of paper and sign it and send it to the idiot who resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington D.C. and you will be free inside of 24 hours.

The two words:

"Praise Allah"

If I was Roman Polanski, and someone slaughtered my 8.5 month pregnant wife, I would use all my money, fame and connections and Eisatzgruppen as many of these Manson vermin, their families, pets, etc. as possible. No mercy would be shown.

And if/when I got caught, no way would I go to prison; try to take me alive.
