Durbin Says We Must Buy Hybrid Cars Because Of Tornadoes: "It's Your Money Or Your Life" (video)

Sen. Dick Durbin reacts to the tornadoes in Dallas, Texas earlier this week. Durbin calls for more laws regulating carbon output while he sends a dire warning that we must convert to hybrid cars or lose our life. Durbin says we must spend money now to fix the problem.

"It's your money or your life," he said a press conference. "We are either going to dedicate ourselves to a cleaner, more livable planet and accept the initial investment necessary or we're going to pay a heavier price in terms of loss of human life, damage and costs associated with it."

What a wad...

As a Hybrid Engr told me we don't make anything here anymore because of the EPA, ya can't plate or paint it so it is sent to China so they are FUBAR-ing their environment and eventually their air gets here and that is ok? And then the parts are shipped back here?

Tell me where is the next positive effect on the environment in that scenario especially given the payback time of these cars....

Beam me up Scotty, no synopsis are firing in the Senator from IL's cranium...

How else to explain the squatter in the Oval Office?

I go back a long, long way. And we were having severe tornadoes in SW Oklahoma long before anyone worried or even thought about CO2 emissions.

His wig is screwed on a little extra tight today. The blood is not reaching that half of a functioning brain cell.

Yo Dick!
It’s called Tornado Alley, not Prius Parkway.

Yes, America must sacrifice and buy these overpriced hybrids while countries like India, Russia and China buy more gas driven vehicles. Sounds like a real deal folks.

Hey Dick, do you ever wonder what life would be like if you’d had enough oxygen at birth?

When you do not allow or permit people to grow up, they stay stuck in liberalism.

Because youth is naive and idealistic.

The saying, “If you’re a conservative at 18 you have no heart; if you’re a liberal at 30 you have no brains” describes the process of maturing from idealistic youth to a responsible, able-bodied person who learns the realities of life. You can still be optimistic, just not idiotically naive about it.

Democrat/liberal policies that have been enacted the last 60 years have been designed to prevent as many people as possible from making this normal transition from overly-idealistic youth to responsible and functioning able-bodied people.

I wasn’t around but we were having this sort of weather before automobiles were ever dreamt of. Ludicrous Lies of the Left.

Same here for this Texas native. Its spring in Texas. You can count on at least one storm a week. Under the right conditions they will produce tornadoes. Go back to any turn of the century farm in these parts and you will see storm cellars. Those folks weren’t building those to increase property values.

As I posted on Facebook in response to the CNN ladies attempting to make the connection between tornadoes and “climate change”:

Major outbreaks just on Palm Sunday: 1920 - 38+ tornadoes/380+ fatalities; 1965 - 47/271; 1994 - 25/42. Using the critical thinking skills employed by today’s media, it would appear Palm Sunday is getting safer.

Technology and the spreading population is just now reaching the point where it would be hard not to spot a tornado either in person or by radar in the US. Just 30 years ago that would have been quite challenging. There is no telling how many unreported tornadoes this country has had in the last 200 years.

I have a book from 1915 called “America’s Tornado Disaster” or something like that.

The book was about a tornado that stayed on the ground for many hours and tore through a number of mid-western states, killing 600 - 700 people and causing enormous property damage. There weren’t many automobiles on the road in 1915.

Cars and their emissions cause tornados? Gimme a break, Durbin.

Durbin is a fool, but then again, we all knew that already.

The Illinois media people describe Durbin as being so dumb he doesn’t even know how dumb he is.

I like your enthusiasm, but Unicorns aren’t for everyone. My cousin Dave lived with the Clintons for awhile, but Bill called him a Jackelope, so Dave put his horn up Bill’s donkey. Turns out Bill likes that, so Dave took off for Arizona.
