Four members of the NYPD’s elite Emergency Service Unit were shot early today during a wild shootout with an ex-con barricaded inside his Brooklyn apartment, police said.

Detective Michael Keenan, 52, was struck in his left calf while Detective Kenneth Ayala, 49, was hit in the thigh and left ankle during a 12:30 a.m. firefight with Nakwon Foxworth, 33, inside the suspect’s apartment building at 3301 Nostrand Ave. in Sheepshead Bay, said NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.

Even if they confiscated every gun in America, which I don’t see happening ever, but even if they could do that, do they really expect us to believe that the traffic in ILLEGAL guns would cease?

I believe they are only concerned in disarming law-abiding citizens, so they would be less concerned with illegal gun sales.

From the article:
“Police confiscated three weapons and 50 rounds of ammunition from within Foxworth’s apartment, Kelly said. The guns included a 9 mm Browning handgun — which was used in the gun battle . . . Cops also found a loaded, defaced .22 caliber revolver and a sawed-off military assault rifle equipped with a scope.”

Foxworth's “weapons cache” was composed of a Browning Mk III 9mm Hi-Power pistol (14-shots), a High Standard Sentinel 9-shot .22 DA revolver, and a Ruger Mini-14 rifle with a pistol grip stock (butt stock removed), a barrel cutoff just ahead of the gas block, and a 20-round magazine. The Mini-14 is hardly a “military assault rifle” — but this is New York and the writers aren't very gun savvy.

Aside from the attempted murder charge, Mr. Foxworth also qualifies for: (1) a felon in possession of firearms (10 years, $10K fine); (2) possession of a firearm with defaced serial number (10 years, $10K fine); (3) possession of a sawed-off rifle (10 years, $10K fine). If the prosecutors do this right, Foxworth won't see the outside of prison bars until he's 80 years old.

Will the FBI hurry down and investigate this revenge shooting on Whitey?

Of course you are right. My question was stupid. It’s the second amendment they are taking aim at, not “criminals with guns”.

He will plea-bargain the lot down to misdemeanors and get time served or, at worse, six months probation.

This is NYC, but these three charges are federal charges that could be added on top of the state charges (attempted murder). Have the state give Foxworth 20 years for attempted murder and the feds give him 30 on the three federal charges. If everything is consecutive, that's how he gets to stay behind bars until past 80.

“but this is New York and the writers aren’t very gun savvy”

Because the Draconian gun laws keeps them from gaining first hand knowledge.

"He also had a sawed-off military style assault rifle equipped with a scope that had been stolen from Florida."

"The 9-mm Browning was part of a multiple gun purchase Foxworth made in Wilmington, North Carolina."

It is a Federal Offense for felons to possess a firearm. As cited by federalcriminallawyer.us:

The federal offense of possession of a firearm by a felon is defined by statute, Title 18,
United States Code, Section 922(g)(1). The offense is a felony. The law provides the following:
It shall be unlawful for any person-
   (1) who has been convicted in any court of, a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term
    exceeding one year;
                                         ***
to ship or transport in interstate or foreign commerce, or possess in or affecting commerce,
any firearm or ammunition; or to receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or
transported in interstate or foreign commerce.
Federalcriminallawyer.us continues:
"Possession of a firearm by a felon is most often prosecuted in state court... But state charges give way to federal charges where the gun crossed state lines. Basically, if the federal government can establish that the gun was involved in some interstate activity, then it becomes a federal case. These cases are typically investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF)..."

But given the vital RACIAL information on Nakwon's Prison Record with NYS-DOC:

  Inmate Name: FOXWORTH, NAKWON
  Sex: MALE
  Date of Birth: 09/15/1978
  Race/Ethnicity: BLACK **(Holder's People / Obama Son Could-Have-Been)**
  Crime, Sentence, Incarcerated, Released:
      ATT JO - MURDER 2ND, 1996, 2-6 yrs, 1998
      CRIM POSS WEAP 2ND, 1999, 10-11 yrs, 2009
It is obvious that Holder & Obama will see no "federal" role here. After all did not Derrick Bell's "Critical Race Theory" teach them that Blacks should not be held to the same (White) laws as Whites?
