When mittens hits the 1144 mark, Lancey, me and thousands of other FReepers will support him and either self ban or get zotted and then the few hundred remaining FReepers will have loads of extra server bandwidth to send fast messages back and forth.

It's your choice, but don't try to convince me that obama is a political equivalent with romney.

Romney is better than mcpain and I voted for him and is not too far removed from GWB and he was not the equivalent of algore.

Using the logic that you all propose, a pubbie candidate must walk on hot coals, be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, and pass every test that you all conceive.

Before your brains explode, I'll repeat myself, Romney is not my first choice, but given that it is obama or Romney, I will not help the halfrican, communist, mooselimb prick get re-elected, which is what a vote that doesn't choose Romney will do.

It's a free Country {for now} so use your vote any way you want, but I will do the same.

No, a pubbie candidate need only be a genuine conservative who can be trusted.
What on earth is so hard to understand about that?

Romney, with his left-wing, Progressive Liberal record makes McCain look like a conservative.

Your powers of reasoning and logic and observation seem to be lacking.

The aggregate of McCain's record, and I detest John McCain, compares to the aggregate of Mitt Romney's record (and the list that follows is just a small part of Romney's record):

1. Implemented/created Gay Marriage in MA
2. Supported and forced Gay Adoption in MA
3. Supported Abortion wholeheartedly
4. Raised taxes/fees over 300% while being Governor of MA
5. Implemented a state-level Cap and Trade system.
6. Supported Man-Made Global Warming
7. Supported the Brady Bill
8. Implemented a state level "Assault" Weapons Bill after the Federal AWB was allowed to expire
9. Supported TARP
10. Supported Amnesty for Illegal Aliens (Citizenship for those already here)
11. Supported McCain-Kennedy(Amenesty)
12. Implemented a socialized medicine in MA called RomneyCare complete with an Individual Mandate and $50 abortions
13. Nominated 27 Democrats (out of 36 nominations) for judgeships in MA, many of them extreme left-wingers

As I sit watching Santorum drop out on Fox, it is fine with me, the idea of gathering around one of the two. The problem I see is getting the compromise. Gingrich folks in majority don’t like Santorum, and Santorum folks in majority don’t like Gingrich. How to get past that?

Also, Eternal Vigilance has pointed the way to the America’s Party. I am studying that platform. Would someone like Santorum run as a candidate for this party? Here is the link:

http://www.selfgovernment.us/about.html

I am hoping with “Nuts” to get the idea across to the Republican party that conservatives are not going to be pushed around this time. But then again....as I watch Santorum, maybe they (Repubs.) WILL push us around?

That is not to say that *I* will be pushed around. I will not vote for Mitt Romney. I will vote “nuts” if he and Obama are my only choices.

Isn’t it amazing that even when faced with cold facts, some folks still cannot see past the brainwashing that has been done to them with the mantra of “anybody but Obama.”

Keep fighting!

As I sit watching Santorum drop out on Fox

Just heard that myself and had to jump on FR to confirm. It is hard to coalesce around a candidate that gave up the fight. I'm afraid with this decision, Santorum has allowed his initiative to be fully marginalized. The opponents will successfully paint his departure prior to Pennsylvania as "cowardice", just as they painted Cain's departure as "guilt". We are indeed left with 3rd party or "Nuts!". I will have a look at "America's Party" ... but without an organization to get a name on every ballot, it is hard to make a statement without name recognition. I won't vote for Romney, and I won't leave the blank empty. You might just have another "Nuts!" voter in me if I can't find a candidate worth supporting.

Well, I stand corrected. America’s Party already has a candidate! I hadn’t gotten to that part of the site yet. Sorry.

Did you know Lincoln was nominated as the Republican candidate through a brokered convention? The favorite at the time was William H. Seward. Lincoln was regarded as a dark horse contender with no chance of victory. However, he won the nomination on the third ballot, and as we all know, went on to win the presidency that November.

Other Republican pr...esidents who were nominated at a brokered convention include: Rutherford Hayes (7th ballot) James Garfield (36th ballot!)

Warning Harding (10th ballot) Dwight D. Eisenhower (2nd ballot) The closest we have come to a brokered convention in modern times was in 1976, when neither President Gerald R. Ford nor challenger Ronald Reagan arrived at the convention with a majority of the delegates, but Ford rallied to a win on the first ballot.

The bottom line? Republican brokered conventions result in presidential wins!

The convention is almost exactly 20 weeks away, we are on the banks of the Delaware. It's time. It's time to find out what we're made of...

Newt make history again

"It's your choice, but don't try to convince me that obama is a political equivalent with romney."

He isn't. Zero doesn't try to pretend he's a Republican while pursuing a leftist agenda as Willard does.

"Romney is better than mcpain"

That wasn't true in 2008 and it isn't true now. Trying to fool yourself into believing a delusion doesn't make it true.

"Using the logic that you all propose, a pubbie candidate must walk on hot coals, be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, and pass every test that you all conceive."

I guess being honest, possessing integrity and, y'know, actually being a non-Socialist Conservative is too much to ask of a Republican. You just are willing to set the bar so low as that all an execrable fraud merely have is a pulse and a few bucks. That's really sad.

"Before your brains explode, I'll repeat myself, Romney is not my first choice, but given that it is obama or Romney, I will not help the halfrican, communist, mooselimb prick get re-elected, which is what a vote that doesn't choose Romney will do."

Conservatives don't support those false choices of a megalomaniacal, lying Marxist fraud vs. a megalomaniacal, lying Socialist fraud.

"It's a free Country {for now} so use your vote any way you want, but I will do the same."

"When mittens hits the 1144 mark, Lancey, me and thousands of other FReepers will support him and either self ban or get zotted"

In that case...

I am enjoying watching the “progressive” moles be be shut down here on FR the last few days.

I am pleasantly surprised to see that the majority of FR has not taken the craven position of supporting the POS liberal GOP-e and their bastard socialist candidate.

Honestly, when I chose to set sail from FR I thought that when romney was given the candidacy FR would “reluctantly” fall in line behind that SOB and the GOP “elite”.

Apparently, I was wrong... I lost faith... It happens...

The first battle we need to win in the war against forced collectivism is against the Socialists in OUR camp. NOTHING is more important than this right now because NOTHING can be done in the wider war until we “bury” them. We simply cannot have folks in our tent that are throwing hand grenades under our cots while we sleep.
