It’s time
The Republican nominee (probably Romney) should post an anticipated administration:
Vice President: Santorum
Secretary of State: Newton Leroy “Newt” Gingrich
Attorney General: Ron Paul
Head of the FBI: Rudolph William Louis “Rudy” Giuliani
Then put 90% of the current regime IN JAIL ! ! ! ! !

Its sorta like watching corn grow. Except the outcome is more tragic.
I know the feeling, Sue. Whether at the state or federal level, the establishment should button its yap and let people judge the candidates for themselves.
Of course, in an ideal world, neither endorsements nor party affiliation would mean a whit because voters would know that they’re not reliable indicators of a candidate’s worth. An uninformed, easily swayed electorate is the consequence of our party-line mentality.
Can you imagine what would happen if we banned party affiliation from ballots? People might *gasp* actually have to think about who they’re voting for.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but those days are long gone. The living proof of that is John Boehner and most of the House freshmen.
Once Mitt wins the nomination, IF he wins, we will be under the thumb of the GOP-e. If he were to win the Presidency, our Masters will be the GOP-e. We still can defeat them if we refuse to accept their candidate..
We're in a war, and our enemy is the GOP-e as much as anyone else. Step 1: defeat Romney. Step 2: defeat Boehner AND Cantor.

I don’t think there will be any backlash, when Romney can’t even be defeated. There will be nothing but wimpering from now to the convention and beyond.
Don’t plan on any of this. Once the GOP-e’s candidate wins, they will call the shots.

Truth is not determined by the direction the crowd is going. Even less by what politicians say.
Despite my reservations about him from representing me in Georgia all those years, I voted for him here in Georgia to try and turn the tide against him.
Newt isn’t going to win this by any stretch of the imagination. He is dealing with a several million dollar campaign debt right now and will be lucky to recover from that.
Despite that, it is worth his holding on to keep Mitt on the right side as long as he can - Santorum, too.
I think what Newt needs to be working on is debt clearance and the penultimate speech at the GOP convention nominating the winner. It is imperative that we as conservatives have our last clear conservative voice at the convention prior to the ultimate winner’s acceptance speech...I don’t like either of the two possibles, but either is preferable to Tyrant Obama.
America’s too “PC” for that now a days. I for one would love it.
If Santorum can't win PA by huge majority, he's finished. Since he's still so popular with Republicans in PA, I'm sure he'll easily match Romney's 70%+ in MA.
Then again, that is exactly what every conspiracy theorist says. Truthers say precisely the same thing.
Santorum is a lost cause- and Willard, the likely nominee, guarantees the re-election of obama.
Newt was the smartest and most inspiring candidate in the race. IMO the best one since Reagan, but sad to say he has too much baggage.

Jesus said something like that, too. Broad is the way of destruction, path to life is narrow, something like that. Point is, I don’t remember the last time I heard an argument as lame as yours on FR. If birthers were all saying the Sun rises in the east, would that make it any less true?
As for certain truths being believed by only a few at the beginning, that’s the normal pattern in science and other disciplines. Normally, though, when no one has a stake in this “new truth,” it will gradually gain acceptance as more become aware of evidence. However, where structures of power depend on falsehoods, the truth will be fought tooth and nail, and many who would otherwise believe are intimidated into a forced uncertainty. Especially politicians, pragmatic creatures that they are.
Most people who reject the eligibility problem as too fringe to even consider, have, unsurprisingly, not considered it, I.e., have not thought about it to any depth or considered any evidence. The herd instinct is strong, but it fails to prove anything, except for the analytical limitations of the herd. Can you let some of us rise above being lemmings? Thank you.
