Two Intruders Break In, Woman Finds Gun, Kills One(MO)

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A young man died Monday afternoon after a woman says she shot him in self-defense after he put a gun to her head and locked her in a closet.

Police say two young men, in their teens knocked on the woman’s door and asked to see a man. When the woman at the house in the 5800 block of Garfield told the men he wasn’t there, police say the men forced their way in, pointed a gun at the woman’s head, and put her in a closet.

While they rummaged through her house, the woman, who is in her 20s says she found the gun that she hides in the closet. She stepped out of the closet and shot one of the men. He stumbled out of the house, into the yard, and collapsed in the front yard, where a neighbor found him.

“There was some bloody clothes and he was just shakin’ terribly shaking,” said Liz Randle. “And I said, ‘Oh. He done got shot,’ and his clothes they came down below his waist… and he was really, really looking awfully bad.”

The woman told police the other man, who was dressed in an orange shirt, ran from the scene.

Police have not released the name of the victim. They say charges are not likely since it appears the woman acted in self-defense.

“Uh yeah. I’d have got him. He come up on your house, he deserve to get shot,” said Albert Jordan, another neighbor.

I’m a fan of the verbiage used: She “found” the gun in the closet.

It’s as if she was just sitting there feeling sorry for herself, “Oh me, oh my, I can’t believe I’m locked in this closet.”

And then EUREKA! “Oh Lordy thank you for this gun I just happened find in my closet.”

Journalism is a joke anymore.

Note that there are no mentions of race in this article, yet the majority of us likely knew this was a black-on-black crime. Where’s the outrage?

My initial image after reading this comment is that it was probably somebody who likes to wear his pants about halfway down his butt. As he tried to flee the house after getting shot, gravity took over and his pants fell down to his knees, or lower.

I could be wrong, but a young male wearing pants in that manner would tend to answer the race question.
