Detroit - Remember “sticker shock”? After several years of heavily discounting their products in a desperate bid to keep assembly lines rolling, automakers are finding themselves back in the driver’s seat again – pushing prices to record levels. And it’s “not a blip,” warns one senior analyst, who expects the trend to continue for several years. The good news for shoppers is that trade-ins are also yielding better prices – and while that new car, truck or crossover may command more money than ever before it’s also likely to include significantly more features and markedly better fuel economy than

Wait until they wake up, look around and see we look like Cuba, where the minimum vintage of the average car on the road is my age (60).

More evidence of the inflation that Obama has unleashed with his wild spending. This is going to get a lot worse before it gets any better.

I don’t trade and rarely buy new. Prefer high end lease turn-ins. But that’s just me.

Fed monetizing 61% of the huge Obama deficit with money created from nothing pushes price inflation. Obamanomics is bloviating on thin ice.

Another one of the many records set during the ongoing Baraqqi Depression:

Obama will NEVER admit that criminal federal spending played a major role in unprecendented spending and resulting massive inflation.

Every working income-tax paying American pays. The parasites continue to increase in number both from welfare and government jobs, the other welfare.

The retired from the private sector are the greatest losers.

Detroit - Remember “sticker shock”?

They can choke on it. I do plan to buy another new car in my lifetime. And I would die before buying one from Obama Motors (GM).

Happy 60. Mine was in Feb 2012.

With the extra ‘flexibility’, President O-II would come up with some kind of required upgrade to a Prius/Volt enforced by the EPA or some such. Federal agents will ensure that
this never becomes a Cuba, and that your 4x4 with the battle flag on the back window and the dangling balls or your black 1960 Chrysler with the ‘Golden Lion’ V8 is on its way to the scrapyard.

you better belive he would do it.

It seems like the proposition of raising kids and making mortgage payments caused me to prioritize buying a new car to the bottom of the stack. Stuff like this confirms that I will likely never purchase a brand new car - ever.

...not like it mattered.

Yes, 15 Federal trillion, are flooding up against the weakening dam.

And for those that cash out of the false market, will cash out into higher prices.

Watch Federal salaries carefully folks, as they attempt to keep themselves insulated (just like with Phony-Care), with high salaries out-pacing the effects everyone else has to suffer.

I have a 6 year old Jag and was just recently looking at a new Mercedes. Think I’ll drive the Jag a few more years.

I have a 2000 Expedition our 23 year old daughter is currently driving. Iha have her 2003 CRV and my wife has a 2000 RX3000. Two were turned in leases and the Expedition was purchased from a wholesaler. Great vehicles. What I tell my children is that althought the Expedition only has a book value of around 700 or so, when I need to pull something it is worth many time more that.

In 2003 I bartered an old dodge caravan or house painting work. I would give the other to to a charity before I bent over for some used car weasel. But again, that's just me.

Having spent nearly 20 years in various positions in the retail vehicle business, some advice. On new vehicles shop only on the absolute best price first and separate from the rest of the deal.
Also get the trade (if any) evaluated after the deal has been worked on price. Get it, it is another separate part of the deal and it must stand on it's own.
Then work the payments (if any) as the separate and third part of the deal and that is what you buy on. Get the best numbers in all three areas, don't let them divert you with saying that you can't work it from all sides... you can and I will buy ONLY on which dealer provides the best numbers on ALL 3 areas and you will not buy today, only after you have seen all the dealers and slept on it.

Lease only after you have the best in the other areas. NEVER before of or as a "pat of the deal". Lastly. Do not Buy a new car ever. You can work those deals harder and get all the same stuff as a new car, just that tons of depredation is all ready gone. Financing, warranties, benefits are nearly the same and very much magnified.
Right now is the time to buy vehicles (used)as no matter what the dealer tells you, you are in the power position in this market on all phases of the dealing. Feel free to contact me with specific directions and assistance.

Remember, all discussions as done in level, re-assuring tones... always with the smile. and always polite and firm but kind. You have to have the attitude that you need to get the best price and they should see that they wiil make a fast deal and get a great customer for life. You want them boht to have a good transaction and you appreciate their working with you to make it happen so easily and smoothly. />
you have ALL the power cause you have the cash. Politely insist on getting what you are do. No arguments and no contention. Make the process a smooth and enjoyable one and all will feel better.

Contact me if you need any assistance or directions
