SANFORD — After weeks of demanding justice in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, reaction across Central Florida to George Zimmerman's second-degree murder charge shows measured relief.
"I think it's justice being served," Sanford's Allen Chapel AME Church Pastor Valarie Houston said. "All the protesting and all the marching, all the tears and lost nights of sleep, it's all been worthwhile."
Houston held a prayer service at the church that was attended by several dozen people after Special Prosecutor Angela Corey's decision to charge Zimmerman. Worshippers rose to sing "Glory, Glory Hallelujah" after walking into the church.
Minister R. White, in his opening prayer, thanked God and asked blessings for the Zimmerman family "on this victorious day."
The Goldsboro neighborhood church has been a focal point for protesters and others who have expressed their concerns about the handling of the case by the Sanford Police Department.
On Monday, the Dream Defenders, a coalition of college students from across Florida marched from Daytona Beach to the church to demand the arrest of Zimmerman. They later blocked the entrance to the Sanford Police Department, forcing officials to temporarily close the building to the public....

I think it’s significant she charged 2nd degree murder but no state hate crime or civil rights violations.

Many will say I’m being a bit dramatic, but, this is one of the worst moments in the history of this country. May Heaven please help George Zimmerman.
2nd degree murder? Oh Please! It would seem to me to have been much wiser to accuse him of a smaller crime, there is just no way to make murder stick. The outcome of the trial will make the community much worse than the non arrest. Heaven help the poor juror that acquits poor Zimmerman. I sure hope no body publicizes the names of the jurors.
I do hope that the prosecutor is involved in a save their life situation similar to Zimmerman before the trial. This is all starting to stink so badly.
Look for a hung jury in this case, mark my words.

Nightline did a piece on this tonight. They used all three pictures of GZ and a more recent picture of TM. However... they played an edited version of the 911 tape. It’s so hard not to yell at the tv.
Mob rules. The race baiters never miss an opportunity to play the part of professional victim.
A few years ago the state of FL let an innocent disabled woman be brutally starved to death.

The reality is that, with too much publicity, I am CONFIDENT I will be right, because since what happened to the Casey Anthony trial, we are going to have another one of those crazy show trails.

There’s not enough people with that much courage and integrity. They will all cave to the angry mob...just like the OJ trial.
But with the overkill of media reporting, finding any jury will be hard at best and I see most likely a hung jury in all this.
I see a lot of retailers across the country taking some big hits if they allow GZ to post bond. The lynch mobs are going to be in the mood for some “free stuff” after all of the “protesting” they’ve had to do.
I am confident there will be people of courage and integrtiy. No caving is going to happen.
I think if I was Zimmerman, I would have tried to sneak out and leave the country. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m dubious on these charges because the “politically correct” crowd and “Eric Holder’s People” want it.
Wouldn’t controlling the threatening mobs have been a relief? The mobs were/are the problem. Zimmerman wasn’t going to run around like a dangerous criminal on a rampage, while police and DA’s did their job.
That type of cowardliness deserves no relief.
My prediction stands, either hung jury or 3rd degree at most.

On the first days of this story, I was pretty down on Zimmerman. The more I learned, the more I figured he was justified.
Now I hope the legal system works.
The problem will be finding an impartial jury. That is why I say there could very well be either a hung jury or deciding on a 3rd degree.
