To this day I don’t understand why Republicans run from President Bush. Yes, he made mistakes during his 8 years. But for the most part, the economic numbers don’t lie. There was prosperity during the Bush years - and this with the aftermath of 911 and while fighting two wars. The Republicans should be quoting that 4.6% unemployement number and they should be stressing that the downturn began when the rats took over the House. Unemployment didn’t spike until the actual collapse occurred.
W was awesome at fighting terrorism. However, he was lost at sea, depending on whatever conservative stalwarts in Congress to fill the gap. W’s worst, and most eggregious failure was establishment of the DHS and TSA. Judging by the result, I am tempted to call that one act traitorous.
Considering the ‘Progressives’ were out to utterly destroy the legitimacy his Presidency (’selected’ not elected for starters), it’s a wonder we had any success at all. Obama has continued ‘Bush’s tax cuts’ even when he had full control of Congress AND he has expanded the war on terror beyond anything Bush could have imagined. (There’s no way anyone in the world would stand for drone assasinations from President Bush.)
Bush never called Democrats ‘enemies’. Obama has called me his ‘enemy’. I take that seriously.
The Republicans should be quoting that 4.6% unemployement number and they should be stressing that the downturn began when the rats took over the House. ....I have, right here on FR. One rebuttal was that jobs were a “bubble” that W should have known about about. Someone posted a graph of oil and/or gas prices and charged it to Pelosi after her ILLEGAL trip to Islamic countries.
