A Renton homeowner fired shots at a burglar Wednesday morning, after the suspect rang his doorbell and then broke in through a living room window.
The incident happened in the 200 block of Naches Avenue Southwest off Highway 900 and the homeowner said he thinks it was the same person who broke into his house yesterday when he was at work.
"Last night was scary. I didnt get to sleep until 3 or 4 [a.m.] and finally got to sleep and got woken up with the doorbell ringing," Jose, who didn't want his last name used, said. "Next thing I know, I heard some noises in the living room thats when I had to go get ready and do what I had to do to protect myself."
Jose fired a shot at the suspect, who ran out the front door. Renton police believe the man may have been struck by a bullet and alerted local hospitals to be on the lookout for anyone who comes in with a gunshot wound.
Detective Robert Onishi has been busy investigating multiple home burglaries this week, including one in the Talbot Hill neighborhood Tuesday. An alert neighbor called 911 when she saw burglars break into a house next door.
"There was only five or six minutes from the time of the call to when officers got there and they found the suspects fleeing the yard with a TV and some jewelry," said Onishi.
Police arrested five suspects between 14- and 18-years-old.
The suspect in the burglary on Naches Avenue Southwest is described as a black male in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and wearing all black clothing.

I live around this area in Puget Sound and for months there have been a rash of burglaries in this area. They seem to be working in groups. I have lived around Seattle for more than 30 years and I can’t remember seeing so many burglaries happening like this before.

I guess all those people who’s homes are being burglarized are happy there’s no “Zimmerman” around to help protect their property.
Police babysit black hoodlums their single moms can't control - and the rest of us have to subsidize it with our taxes. To add insult to injury, decent citizens have to buy home Security Systems, and form neighborhood watch groups.
Somethings got to give - this isn't right.
Neighborhoods should get equal police protection. We pay for what we use - just like water or electricity. If people in the black community want to leave their outdoor hoses running - and not fix the faucet leaks in their homes - fine. But I don't want to have my water bill 'averaged' with theirs.
Same for police protection. If the black community becomes more lawless without 24/7 cops - ( hard to believe) they can install home security systems and create their own 'watch' teams. OR they can pay extra for police protection - BECAUSE I'M SICK of paying for cops to babysit their communities...
I bet the burglars came down from Skyway.
If the Black bad guy dies from being shot, the shooter may end up being Zimmerman’s roommate .
the cops are actively going after them...
the neighborhood that I live in is at least talking to one another, and I for one am writing down a lic plate numbers on suspicious cars or trucks...
hope it doesn't come down to violence...
